They r. But their is a few lads from Leicester on that card. Guessing the capacity suits the show better than brum venues
Re: Tommy Langford vs. Craig Cunningham - April 22nd 2017
Only reason I can think too. Whats Leicester Arena capacity like? There is a lack of mid sized venues in Brum.maley1984 wrote:chrisnew86 wrote:Why is this in Leicester ? Are they not both from Brum?wesshaw1985 wrote:Just announced for the Leicester Arena...

Re: Tommy Langford vs. Craig Cunningham - April 22nd 2017
Warren said after the Magnificent Seven card in Brum back in 2010/2011 that he wouldn’t put on any more shows in Birmingham because of the trouble there. Not sure whether that still stands but even when Gavin was fighting for Warren he put them on at Wolvo Civic Hall rather than in Brum. That could have also been due to capacity suiting as both arenas in Brum hold around 16k.
The fight is the night before the Blues Villa derby as well and the whole of Birmingham tends to go a bit loopy that weekend. Cunningham is a massive Blues fan as well.

Hes been talking recently of Langford spearheading boxing in Birmingham. Think its more the capacity thing.BrumBlue wrote:Warren said after the Magnificent Seven card in Brum back in 2010/2011 that he wouldn’t put on any more shows in Birmingham because of the trouble there. You would think Langford would fight at Wolverhampton civic all the time.ste1983 wrote:Hes been talking recently of Langford spearheading boxing in Birmingham. Is Leicester arena bigger ?
Decent matchmaking this.
Cunningham is coming off a credible win

I think the civic in Wolvo his being revamped
Re: Tommy Langford vs. Craig Cunningham - April 22nd 2017
Think Leicester's about 3.5k, looks like they've gone there because of the Indian community with Vijender Singh being on the undercard.Naandrew wrote:You would think Langford would fight at Wolverhampton civic all the time.ste1983 wrote:Hes been talking recently of Langford spearheading boxing in Birmingham. Been told the venue hold 2400
Re: Tommy Langford vs. Craig Cunningham - April 22nd 2017
Makes sense, past few shows in Bham have sold OK, I mean, Gavin Eggington didn't sell the place out and for Birmingham, can you get a much bigger fight?maley1984 wrote:ste1983 wrote:Only reason I can think too. Slowly, Langford is building a more than credible fan base, wouldn't be shocked to see Warren take him there if he gets a European/World title shot later in the year/2018.
Re: Tommy Langford vs. Craig Cunningham - April 22nd 2017
Got a feeling this could be off... Fwank tweeting big news for Langford announced next week my guess is BJS and Craig's Twitter seems to confirm he's not sure what's happening.
Re: Tommy Langford vs. Craig Cunningham - April 22nd 2017
I'm not sold on Langford at all. Anytime I've seen him he's looked average at best. If BJS is even half fit he'll box his head off. BJS was utter dog shìt last time though so who knows if he's even taking the game seriously just now? Has he even got a proper trainer?no1man wrote:Got a feeling this could be off... Re: Tommy Langford vs. Craig Cunningham - April 22nd 2017
Same. Didn't watch the Sheedy fight though I heard it was close. I thought the Lewis Taylor fight was closer than the scorecards suggested.Stuarty30 wrote:I'm not sold on Langford at all. Solid British level from what I have seen. But why doesn't he fight in Birmingham much ? He looks like he has decent support and in well with the West Brom fans.
I terms of the big news I'm going for Khurtsidze in a WBO final eliminator or BJs
Re: Tommy Langford vs. Craig Cunningham - April 22nd 2017
Spot on! he fights Khurtsidze for the WBO interim...Naandrew wrote:Same. Didn't watch the Sheedy fight though I heard it was close. As for not fighting in Birmingham much he has fought in the west mids 11 times.
As for his following its not just the shit ....sorry west brom, fans. They're quite new to the party last 2/3 fights. He always has a good following up from Devon too

Langford vs. Khurtsidze for WBO interim-MW Title - http://www.BS.com/avtandil-khu ... 22--114065
Re: Tommy Langford vs. Avtandil Khurtsidze - April 22nd 2017
I like this fight a lot.
If Langford is on last bout's form it could be Douglas-Khurtsidze all over again (or worse). The short guy can really fight....

Rooting for Langford but I think the very tough Khurtsidze will likely win.
Re: Tommy Langford vs. Avtandil Khurtsidze - April 22nd 2017
So is BJS going to fight a better guy than Khurtsidze next? Hopefully or he's going to look even more of a plum! I thought he was already the mandatory? Guy is older but he can whack and he'll come to win. I'm looking forward to see who BJS fights next! His title reign is fast becoming a total joke!

They should have called it beauty and the beast.

Re: Tommy Langford vs. Avtandil Khurtsidze - April 22nd 2017
Good to see Langford step up and fight this guy, but I don't get why the WBO have put up an interim title ? BJS isn't injured, surely the normal state of affairs is to strip the champ if he isn't defending, to free it up to the top contenders. Am I missing something here ?
Re: Tommy Langford vs. Avtandil Khurtsidze - April 22nd 2017
I'd imagine Khurtsidze fighting on a FW bill for the interim is part of some sort of step aside deal struck so that BJS can fight Golovkin as expected.JimJim2009 wrote:Good to see Langford step up and fight this guy, but I don't get why the WBO have put up an interim title ? Going to this looking like it could be a really good show too. Proper old school undercard Midlands area, English and British title fights on
