Haye-Bellew Off??

Post by edgey2009 »

Reports in the sun Haye has picked up an achilles injury and has flown to Munich for treatment. Fight in real serious doubt apparently. Understand The Sun isnt the most reliable of newspapers

Various outlets reporting the above now, Haye tweeted last night about looking forward to it etc, surely he is not training whilst in Munich so hopefully it's not factual. Although equally you don't fly to Munich on fight week unless it's for a very good reason.

Guess if nothing official comes out then we will see for ourselves at the open workout tonight.

He posted a tweet an hour ago which seemed to suggest fight is still going ahead. Bellew also mentioned something about asking him about his trips to Munich? The Sun have reported he will NOT be at the open workout tonight so we will see later on. He wont be able to recover from another pullout so close to a fight will he?

He will recover, plenty fools willing to pay to see him. The fans won't get money back for hotels etc tho. Haye couldn't care less.

If he's injured what is he supposed to do?

I never get why fans on here take it as a personal insult when boxers get injured.

This. The conspiracy theories around these sort of things as well are odd. Haye pulls out of the Fury fight saying he's injured. Undergoes surgery, (presumably this was real and did actually happen), and spends years out of the sport, and people will still say he's faked it.

If Haye has a legitimate injury, may be worth getting on Bellew while the odds are still around 5/6-1

I really doubt Haye has gone into many fights feeling 100%. He said in an interview on IFL TV that he is planning to release footage from the lead-up to previous fights to show what went on behind the scenes. It should be interesting.

He did similar to Enzo when he had them all convinced he was dead at the weight. He even begged for an earlier weigh in. When refused, he swanned into the original weigh in eating biscuits and drinking and came in under. Then hammered Enzo...

Haha. I remember this. Literally stood at the side of the scales and drank a smoothie before stepping on and still being a few pounds under.

He looked absolutely ludicrous if I recall. I'm sure on the commentary for the fight John Rawling said Enzo looked in good shape but Haye looked more like a bodybuilder.
