The us tv feed has been out for a few minutes. Hope that isn't going on for those who paid for it. The size difference is huge.

I can remember watching the boxing with a couple of posters on here who shall remain unnamed, and we were all so off our tits on booze and coke we just sat shouting at one another through the entire evening of boxing, including the main event.
As certain gentleman faced his own very personal waterloo in the morning, when he returned to sheffield by train, a broken, battered and very much lesser man than when he arrived.
In fact, three of the posters on here.

He's vastly more experienced but Paulie looks like he's using up more nervous energy than Eggy is.

Nigel Benn v Lou Gent at the Olympia. Half the crowd was E'd up. fornicating mental atmosphere. No one expected Gent to win but everyone had a good time anywayskanksta wrote:E's @ the boxing !?Taansend wrote:I'm loving the house music between fights![]()

Although the Steve Collins bout was as dull as fck. That was when he was primarily a boxer. His later style was a lot more fan friendly.

The commentating is awful. Is Adam Smith always this boring?

I was there too! (No Es though.) it was my first big fight, and a weird atmosphere. Some shady people! I thought Collins looked really poor that night and thought he would do nothing. Just an off night I guessTaansend wrote:Nigel Benn v Lou Gent at the Olympia. Half the crowd was E'd up. effing mental atmosphere. There were lots of East End "I'm a Gangster" types there with big titted blonde birds all thinking they're the mutts nuts. They were taking things very seriously.
Then there was a Rave crowd from South London area there for a laugh. Probably all went to MoD after.
Do you remember the crowd going nuts when Gent would 'trap' Benn on the ropes & throw in a load of wide punches only for Benn to do his usual spring off the ropes with a dozen punches in the blink of an eye.
Meanwhile the crowd were singing "Saaf Lahndan, rah rah rah. Saaf Lahndan, rah rah rah"
