What were some people watching tonight?
What were some people watching tonight?
People saying in the 8th and 9th round "David Hayes gas tank is empty"?
Not acknowledging the injury played a part?
I just read "Haye got the injury because Bellew knocked him down with punches"?
What fornicating planet are you from?
I'm no Haye apologist, he was performing well below what I expected tonight and only narrowly ahead when he picked up the injury.
He wasn't able to get Tony out early and credit to Bellew for still being competitive by the 6th round.
But if anyone thinks that win wasn't entirely down to an ankle injury they're wired to the bloody moon.
Christ, Haye couldn't walk and Bellew still couldn't get him out of there

He had the injury from the start he was flat footed and dragging the leg it just went completely during the fight.davie wrote:David Hayes gas tank is empty?

Your hyperreality disorder is worrying. Same thing trump suffers from. Lets not get too carrie away with any of it ,,, It is what it is , and it was what it was ,, A muscle bound over the hill semi retired fighter coming back , destroying a couple of hand picked opponets and failing to make the grade against a good fighter , even though there was a size difference ,, Itwas a MONEY FIGHT for both boxers and a PPV killing for a promoter who knew how to milk it ..
Entertaining , yes sure it was ,, but quality boxing , no , just a reminder that its more sideshow entertainment , nowadays ,

No kidding, davie.
And trash about Bellew out-hearting Haye? Utter nonsense....Haye was winning clearly until he sustained/aggravated the injury. Tony took his shots well and did what he had to do, but without that injury I think it's very unlikely that he wins.

Agreed , even Bellew told us all in the week Haye was injured and would use that as an excuse for losing ( which he didn't)Finn wrote:He had the injury from the start he was flat footed and dragging the leg it just went completely during the fight.davie wrote:David Hayes gas tank is empty?

That's why his ringwalk took 3/4 of an hour !
Re: What were some people watching tonight?
All of the pathetic worms who slagged off Bellew like he was a piece of garbage and said he had no chance against Haye, are still slagging him off now.
Show some respect and give him some credit.

Would any of you bet the house on Haye winning a rematch?

Re: What were some people watching tonight?
I was criticised on another thread last Sunday when I said Haye was shot- gone and that his corner would pull him out between the 6th and 7th.
Tonight he was hammered by Bellew. Did he hurt his ankle , did he come into the fight carrying an injury - who cares that's his problem . Hammered - end of, and predictable. That why I got 13/2 for an inside the distance win .
Most people on this website didn't like Bellew, but it clouded their judgement. Haye was only fighting for money.

Lol hammered? Bellew couldn't punch through paper tonight. If that's what you call hammered, then AJ must be the Incredible Hulk on speeddalcumly wrote:I was criticised on another thread last Sunday when I said Haye was shot- gone and that his corner would pull him out between the 6th and 7th.

Anyone that puts money on David Haye fights are making a unwise decision.Tuan_Jim wrote:Would any of you bet the house on Haye winning a rematch?
I learned this over the years. Haye is always involved in peculiar fights.
I don't think the rematch will happen but were see.
Re: What were some people watching tonight?
Haye lost ..
Simple . Injury this injury that ..
Same old s**t that Always surrounds Haye

I think he would win the rematch but I wouldn't bet my house on itTuan_Jim wrote:Would any of you bet the house on Haye winning a rematch?
Before the leg Haye was improving and Bellew was very wary and running away
Haye would have won tonight in 8 or 9 imo
Re: What were some people watching tonight?
Haye's ego won't let him retire like this. I think he is just badly injury prone. His body is hyper tuned and just can't take the stress anymore.
It's a shame as a fully fit Haye is still a force.

Re: What were some people watching tonight?
It must have been a weird sort of injury then, one that got much better with a quick breather.
Re: What were some people watching tonight?
Maybe because he was able to take some pressure off it? Do you not think he was legitimately injured? Why did he suddenly start favouring the leg at a point when he was clearly winning and starting to land more?BitPlayer wrote:It must have been a weird sort of injury then, one that got much better with a quick breather.

Let it be known, on English shores the game pudgy guy tends to outlast the musclebound puncher.
If Andy Ruiz boxes Anthony Joshua, bet in that direction!

So, a fighter would normally drag his leg around for 5 rounds and get it taped up to help with fitness issues ?BitPlayer wrote:It must have been a weird sort of injury then, one that got much better with a quick breather.
