The build up to Haye vs Bellew 2

Post by davie »

I can't bear to think what it will be like.

Do we get more fake beef

Does Hyae pull a total u-turn on tonights humbleness, blame the injury and tell us Bellew really is going to hospital this time

Do we get to witness 2 sycophantic arselickers, bigging up how heroic either fighter was in the first classic encounter and hear how the second installment is going to be even more tense and action packed.

A bit of a farce first time round, we now know what we always suspected.... Bellew is not a world class heavyweight.
We know what many suspected, Haye is past his best (I openly admit to not being one of the ITK here, I thought he still ahd the tools to dismantle a barely world level cruiserweight)
We also know Hayes body is absolutely wrecked and the chance of injury in the next bout is highly likely

And now we get to look forward to another PPV extravaganza at Goodison, sold to death by Hearn and Sky with the winner absolutely guaranteed to be linked to a big Joshua fight in 2018

I don't think there will be a rematch. David is too injury prone now, I don't think his body can do it anymore.

Yep he's done, it's a damn shame he went out that way but he relied on speed, explosiveness and power and unfortunately speed and explosiveness are the things that go when youre older and they cause the most injuries when training or fighting. He has power so could fight at a lower level but that's not how Haye will want to carry on. But the way he trains and with his style he will just keep picking up injuries.

It was sad seeing malignaggi looking slow as well.

Bellew is going back to his mum's roots. He grows an afro, says it's a better afro than Haye & they have an Afro-Off.

Anyone buying a ticket gets a free afro wig. Eddie Hearn wears one constantly between announcing the fight til fight night.

Bellew is talking about having 'one big fight' left in him.

So he will be gunning for Anthony Joshua. :maybe:

It's okay, Garcia and Thurman are fighting for the number one spot in arguably the best division in the sport. Should make up for it.

I don't think I've seen a fighter enjoy more good fortune than Bellew! Fair play to him

Wilder? Parker?

He'll angle for a Haye rematch, it will be an even bigger joke than tonight and even more people will buy it.

As I say, fair play to them all. They hoodwinked a lot of people and Hearn/Haye has the knack for attracting the "casual"

Got to admire it, as embarrassing as it is.

With all respect to the fighters Bellew against ANY heavyweight won't sell. It's either a rematch at Goodison in August or nowt. Well, maybe a fight against Hughie Fury if Fury wins but he gets jabbed to buggery in that bout.

This. 100%

Proper fight. I like that Bunce has just said 'nice way to start tonights boxing' after that fight they just showed. Bang on. Freakshows are over, lets get the real stuff underway :TU:

It was like watching wacky races earlier.

This is the proper stuff, and it's as good as a fight we'll get this year on paper too.

Bellend is probably the worst possible outcome for British boxing..... expect a Bellew - Joshua mismatch whether Josh wins or loses against Wlad

They will do it again

Haye will know he's done and will see the rematch as the best payday

Bellew knows Haye is done and will take the easy payday

Bellew wouldn't beat a fit Haye.

Imagine taking a fight knowing your only chance to win is an old injured opponent.

Sky treat Bellew as a domestic cash cow. He's had some big wins and now he got the better if Haye. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if they fed him to AJ. If not they might stick him in with Whyte.
