Re: Will you root for Joshua or for Klitschko ? Why ?
I'm white and of British ancestry - good thing I'm not a racist nationalist or I'd be really conflicted!
In a way, I don't want either to win, but given the option, I'd like to see Joshua winning a competitive fight.
I don't want to see Joshua blowing Wlad out, because I think Joshua is already being overrated and a decisive win would only further that. I also don't want to see Wlad win because I think he is overrated in a historical sense and a win over Joshua would be huge and would increase the shouts of those who put him in their all-time top 10.

Clearly Klitschko! Joshua is very conceited already
Re: Will you root for Joshua or for Klitschko ? Why ?
Haven't seen Joshua fight that much to give me reason to be a fan just yet. Seen enough of Joshua to know a 41 year old Boxer like Klitschko does not stand much of a chance. It's reminiscent of a passing of the torch fight. Louis vs. Marciano, Ali vs. Holmes, Tyson vs. Holmes etc..
Been a longtime fan of both Klitschko's. I'll be pulling for Wlad Klitschko to not get hurt and win at the same time.

I think nationalism is ok, just so long as you support any color.
I remember around 1970-80 even liberals wanted a great white hope.
But to answer the question, I'm for Joshua. A changing of the guard is good every now and then.

..as Klitschko's "lifetime" fan, will be pulling for him..

I'm not sure why Nationalism can't be counted, in big fights like this I'll almost always support the British fighter, that's pretty normal right?
If neither fighter was from my home country, I'd be watching for Joshua. I've watched a lot of Klitscho fights and, whilst I like the guy as a person, his fights are boring. The best thing about them are the ridiculously over the top ring entrances the Germans put on for him. I don't think I can recall a fighter with such a high KO% being in so many dull fights.

Joshua - he is the future.
The division looked like it was going to be exciting when Fury dethroned Wladimir & if Wlad regains a belt, it will just be back to what it was like between 2006 - 2015; dull!
Joshua looks like the face of HW future; powerful, marketable, nice bloke & he looks like a God!

Klitschko, because I want to be right.
Re: Will you root for Joshua or for Klitschko ? Why ?
I'm not bothered either way
Hope it's a good fight though

I'm rooting for the sport of boxing to get a good, untainted outcome and perhaps a good fight.

Wladimir Klitschko will kayo the big Brit between rounds six-eight.
In the legendary words of Max Schmeling, "I see something," in Joshua that is a fatal flaw.

Rooting for Wladimir because he is underrated as an all-time great heavyweight, and because although he's age 41 he's taking on the best prime heavyweight in the world.
But I think Joshua is too strong and too young. Wlad, despite being past his prime, would still beat anybody else, but not Joshua. I hope I'm wrong about this.

Definitely for Joshua. Klitchko is a boring past. Joshua looks like an exciting future. Even if he isn't, it still can't be worse than Klitchko ruling.
Re: Will you root for Joshua or for Klitschko ? Why ?
Wlad, as he's my favourite fighter ever and I've been a huge fan since I first saw him years ago against Charles Shufford. I fully expect the old guy to be KO'd though...
Re: Will you root for Joshua or for Klitschko ? Why ?
Klitschko. Huge fan of both brothers. It will either go two ways - Joshua will be exposed as a Frank Bruno or Klitschko is shot. Vitali started to look crappy at 41 - incredible really. Wlads last two fights looked awful.
Should be interesting and I'm so glad I've got a ticket.

I think wlad will go the distance win or lose and put any questions about his chin to rest.

It would be a huge win, but seeing as Joshua is relatively untested, I don't think it's enough for a Top 10 berth.davie wrote:So to translate, You'd hate to see evidence of something that you happen not to believejezzamundo wrote:

I'd have to give him top 25 if he beats AJ at that age.jezzamundo wrote:It would be a huge win, but seeing as Joshua is relatively untested, I don't think it's enough for a Top 10 berth.davie wrote:So to translate, You'd hate to see evidence of something that you happen not to believejezzamundo wrote:

In other words, you'll never give Wladimir Klitschko any credit no matter what because you don't like him.jezzamundo wrote:It would be a huge win, but seeing as Joshua is relatively untested, I don't think it's enough for a Top 10 berth.
At age 41, Wlad's beating a prime former Olympic Gold medalist, a huge puncher and the best HW of today would be a great win.
Only the very worst of the Klitschko haters will refuse to give him deserved credit.

It would be by far his greatest win.

Probably Joshua. I don't begrudge older fighters their applecart-upsetting wins but the division would be more interesting with a younger and more confidently aggressive man at the top.
Re: Will you root for Joshua or for Klitschko ? Why ?
Sure does... Wladimir Klitschko is well into the Top-10 whether you like it or not Jezzamundo... And whether he gets knocked out early or late by the greatest Heavyweight on the planet, WK has still beaten 9 of the 10 Heavyweight Champions he fought in his prime - even though several refused to fight him.. Losing to Fury and Joshua at 39 and 41 is like Ali losing to Holmes and Berbick when he was 38 and 39 -- except Wladimir is showing better form.davie wrote:So to translate, You'd hate to see evidence of something that you happen not to believejezzamundo wrote:
