This weekend has irritated me massively and Dillian Whyte has correctly labelled Bellew "a fake heavyweight" as he only managed to beat a one-legged David Haye.

The tabloids have recorded it as a "demolition job"......

The irritating casuals believe Bellew is better thanHaye

And Matchroom have the audacity to think he can take on Wilder!

Do these retarded casuals and journalist not realise David Haye was unable to move and therefore became a sitting duck? I agree this is not a recognised victory and I like most people are getting fed up of this pantomime drivel.

Did Bellew actually throw a punch? Why did it take him five rounds to get Haye out of there? He practically had a spastic gait walk in a professional boxing ring?

This fight has potentially ruined Haye's legacy!

Up until the injury Bellew was doing nothing on back foot and prob 4/5 rounds down , the injury occurs and if haye had went down holding the leg and quit , there would have been a rematch,

The saddest aspect of it all for me is once proud champions being reduced to cheerleading "expert" pundits during the coverage! Some of the stuff they came out with was cringeworthy. Tow the line lads...

I think it was all the "experts" here on boxrec, who all thought Haye would annihilate Bellew without breaking a sweat, that turned out to be wrong. Yeah Haye injured himself halfway through, but he wasn't dominating the fight at all.

Haye's movement actually reminded me of my grandad who's is literally unable to bear weight. It was embarrassing. He was in massive pain.

I think Haye was so worked up during the pre-fight pressers because he knew his ankle was really bad.

Watching him under Booth was like watching a different fighter altogether. Sad day....

Hearn knows the sport fairly well... it's shameless, he must know he's the arse of the jokes among boxing fans who actually know what they are watching, but he doesn't care. He's there to use fighters as pawns in the game of "sell boxing to football & TOWIE fans".

Bellew doesn't belong in the HW division. I don't even think he would be Lebedev Usyk or Huck in his own division, although i'll give him his due and put him in that class of the top few Cruisers. I think it would be too much for him facing an on-form legit heavy, someone like Dillian Whyte or Pulev. Bellew just can't shift these guys with his shots and much smaller men have had him down and out of there before.

Boxing must be the most annoying sport in the world for people talking shit when they know very little.

I was at a party last night so couldn't watch live, but someone was watching a FB stream in their phone and called me as Haye went down in the 6th. As soon as he stood up I said he's done his ankle or heel and he's not hurt in a boxing sense, then got an ambush of opinions that Bellew has 'done him'. I left shortly after so didn't know what happened next until I got home.

Then tonight I had to listen to my father in law mention how he bets Haye had a headache this morning

I was talking about boxing in pubs in the mid 80's and it was the same then.

There are people who are really into boxing (like most of us) and people who are drawn to the big names/fights. Been that way since the days of John L.

A good promoters job is to bring in the second group. Eddie's good at his job.

I said from the day it was announced, Haye should win but if it goes past 4 who knows how his body holds up. I even posted odds on a football forum I write on of Bellew winning between rounds 10-12 at 40-1 and said it was worth a fun fiver.

I think for all his bluster Bellew knew he was fighting an injured Haye and despite clearly happy to take credit for the win, I think he felt bad that he was fighting a badly injured person who wouldn't quit and probably felt guilty.

I was quite impressed with the way he behaved after the win he was gracious in victory and showed some class there. I do think he should have acknowledged that Haye was injured and may not have won if he hadn't been. Not because he had to or should have to say such things but I think it would have got him a moral victory and the support of all the guys saying he couldn't beat a one legged man. It's not his fault that he was fighting someone injured but I think acknowledging it would have killed off any chance of criticism, because for me taking credit for an excellent performance "heart" etc has annoyed a lot of people or made him a target of critique.

Dave coldwell bragging about his master tactical plan on IFL being the reason for the win really annoyed me. What's tactical about the other guy blowing out his Achilles?

I think Dillian Whyte has it spot on, Bellew is not a heavyweight, and the only reason that he beat Haye in my opinion was because of the injury. The tabloids description as a 'demolition job' is absolutely ridiculous.

That being said, Matchroom's role in all this is textbook.

Number 1 - Bellew is a Matchroom boxer, it's their responsibility to big him up.
Number 2 - they're promoters, not sports enthusiasts. Your opinions do not make them money.
Number 3 - on paper, Bellew just beat Haye. He's allowed to be mentioned in the same breath as other heavyweights, purely based on that. Had he been splattered by Haye, his name would never have been murmured ever again. The fact that both the Wilder and Parker camp have already contacted Matchroom speaks volumes.

Once again, you have to realise that 9/10 of boxing is pantomime, and making money. The casual fan makes up 90% of revenue. If you don't like it, walk away, it won't make one spot of difference to how the industry is going. You might not recognise this win, purely out of ignorance, but it is by the rest of the world. Injuries happen in matches, and as a viewer you have to accept the outcome of them. Was the injury due to poor preparation from Haye? The pressure forced by Bellew? Answers on a postcard. You want to know why it took Bellew 5 rounds to get Haye out of there? The same reason Haye couldn't get Bellew out in the opening 5. Just punching at fresh air and gassing heavily.

And one last thing, I can assure you, David Haye has ruined his own legacy. He took this fight because he thought it was a free PPV payday. If he's considered one of the elite heavyweights, then maybe he should have behaved like that, and actually fought a credible heavyweight. Instead he's not fought a genuine contender in 5 years, and is staring at a record of 2-1-0 in 60 months. But hey! At least he can drink cocktails in a Jacuzzi on a boat in LA...

Be happy that boxing is on tv. Be happy that it's in the papers. I'm a Londoner living in the US & it's a dead sport here.
