Estimated PPV buys for Haye vs Bellew
Anyone know an estimated figure for the commotion that occurred on the weekend I'm guessing anywhere in the region of 400-500k buys.
It's always interesting to find out the correlation between a lively build up and PPV buys and how much the public buy into it !

Dunno, but I think this is the reason why Haye didn't mention his injury. If he had, Bellew's fans would've called sour grapes and the rematch would've disappeared for good. This way, by saying that Bellew beat him and he wants another go, those same fans'll be all “Go on, Tone, bash him again!”.
Haye knows that he can win next time if his body lets him through another camp, but he can't say that until the rematch has been signed.
I'm not a fan of the guy, but I'd hate to see him go out like this as a fighter. I grew up alongside him, watching him learn from his Thompson loss to then beat Delaney and Kelly in superb style, culminating in his career-defining fight against Mormeck. If his body's willing, he still has one more great fight in him mentally.

I think it did a lot. Pubs here were showing it that never show boxing.

750k my guess

Bear in mind also, when Haye mentioned his toe injury post-Klitschko fight, people were dumping on him for years.Grilling Machine wrote:Dunno, but I think this is the reason why Haye didn't mention his injury. Heard the prediction before the fight was 800K but that seems a bit much.

I ended up caving and buying it. Was glad I did in the end tbh. I'd have been kicking myself if I'd have missed it in hindsight.

The undercard was trash - topped by Katie Taylor pummelling the geezerbird.
I'm amazed why anybody paid for this cack when there was a zillion You know what's available at the click of a button.
I would be astonished if it did more then 500k - ever fcuker I know and saw talking about it on social media didn't pay but watched

Thing is mate, a lot of people don't know where/how to find a decent stream or they don't trust it to work properly and are having a few people round and just want piece of mind. To most people ' streaming it ' means watching on a laptop and not on the tv.
When I tell people about streams or Kodi they say " yeah I have seen that mate its shite, keeps freezing " , they don't realise how good it actually is if you have a proper set up.
I know loads of people that paid, loads of people that never speak about boxing on social media but paid for it Saturday. 800K sounds a bit OTT but i wouldn't be surprised it it was over 500K

Couldn't agree more mate I'll be honest I didn't pay for that PPV watched it the local bar because I felt the fight wouldn't be competitive and the UC didn't seem lively but I think it wasnt a bad bout at the end of the day !chrisnew86 wrote:Manchester Hitman wrote:The undercard was trash - topped by Katie Taylor pummelling the geezerbird.

Re: Estimated PPV buys for Haye vs Bellew
Yeah I was well into for 7 or 8 rounds but it just got more and more obvious that Haye was a sitting duck after that which kind of fucked the fight up. I actually thought Haye looked ropey and his timing was out in the early going but was maybe just about to find his rhythm .kbackup408 wrote:Couldn't agree more mate I'll be honest I didn't pay for that PPV watched it the local bar because I felt the fight wouldn't be competitive and the UC didn't seem lively but I think it wasnt a bad bout at the end of the day !chrisnew86 wrote:Manchester Hitman wrote:The undercard was trash - topped by Katie Taylor pummelling the geezerbird.

I did put a few small fun bets on. One was Selby by KO, Eggington by KO and bellew by KO to bump the price up. Treble, £5 stake and it returned £216 , jammy bastard
Re: Estimated PPV buys for Haye vs Bellew
I think 900.000
Re: Estimated PPV buys for Haye vs Bellew
I haven't a clue on the number, but it would have been a significant amount.
'Casuals' really bought into this fight, and Bellew has an underestimated following. Bellew-Cleverly did huge numbers, never mind this fight.
