War Liam Walsh :bag:

Very underrated fighter. Unfortunately for him it looks as if he's coming up against a special talent. Fancy Davis to win by late stoppage late after a few awkward moments but I really hope I'm wrong as I'm a fan of Walsh. Good fight :TU:

Credit to Davis for coming here and taking on Walsh in his first defence. Shows he has balls.

The way Gervonta Davis handled Pedraza leads me to believe he's gonna handle Walsh in similar fashion.

Every chance mate. Walsh is an awkward type same as Pedraza but I reckon Walsh would've taken Pedraza. I really rate Walsh but this is a tall order.

Floyd was saying Gervonta is the youngest world champion in boxing.

Woo boy Davis looks SOME fighter, the real McCoy, Liam could get a brutal reality check here.
He's up against it, but at least he's got vital home advantage, and Davis is not overly experienced...

But when the going got tough against the wily tough Pedrosa, when a lot of young prospects would have folded, Davis found the punches to turn things round for a sensational win. That speaks volumes how good he is.

Great fight.

Home advantage is not going to help here, Walsh is a decent fighter but a clear level or two below Davis from what I have seen.

Could be a decent scrap while it lasts though.

It's either going to be a Davis KO or Walsh on points (now I've jinxed it).

Davis looked something else against Pedroza but that is his only name fighter & it was a weight drained one at that.

I've got Tank as favourite but I'll be telling mates who like a punt that a Walsh points is a decent outside bet.

I'll tell you this though. Walsh could win every round & Mayweather will still whine about the decision

Such a shame that Walsh didn't get to Pedraza first. He would have beat him clearly.

Agree. I really rate Walsh. It's a pity he's had such a stop start career. Surely he'd have been a world champ by now if not for the inactivity. Possibly even a two weight champion. I genuinely think on skill alone he's one of the best we have to offer. He has the knack of making things look easy. Showed he has heart as well getting up to win against Appleby a few years back.

Echo what's been said. I rate Walsh but Davis looks the real deal. Will probably win mid-late stoppage.

If general consensus is that Walsh doesnt win despite being a strong fighter, question is who beats Davis then?

Loma is too skilled for him in my opinion

Im not so confident that Walsh was a sure thing to beat Pedraza. Which fights do people get that from? Dominating Klimov isnt really that much of a feat, and Pedraza actually beat him up more thoroughly IMO.

I expected Walsh to be a fair bit taller than Davis.. Looked very similar at press conference. Walsh is slightly Taller I expect Walsh to be huge in comparison on the night.. Davis looks like a small Super Feather and Walsh was big at lightweight.. I think Walsh is a lot better than he gets credit for and switches really well.. I think Walsh will win on points in a very very competitive fight.. Looking forward to this one and expect a really great mix of styles

Nice piece of foot in mouth there from Wazza by declaring this a fight for the WBO title, with the IBF belt sat 2 feet away from him - nice one  He’s got the WBO on the brain ;-)

If theres a time to beat davies in the near future, its now. He hasnt done the 12 yet and liam done then enough times.
The odd times pedraza got his shots off fast at range then moved seemed to get to davies, he started showboating, which was a obvious display of frustration.

This is a big job for liam but i do think he can do it. Im going walsh pts. I know that might not be the popular view atm. But with the right gameplan and razor sharp focus, he can do it.

What a great year of boxing we are amidst! This is a great fight thanks to the willingness of a literal kid to invade the UK to fight the best.

Can't wait for this boxing match. Classic clash of styles.

Will be my favourite win of the year if Liam can do this. Mayweather must be very confident to send his boy overseas first defence tho.

Floyds grid will be a sight to behold if Liam wins.

This is a great cross roads matchup, could be the scarily good Davis is one of those fighters who just doesn't travel well, that must be a big hope for Walsh & co, we'll soon see.
And I'd say Floyd ain't got a clue when it comes to matching his fighters, he's far too self absorbed to spend any time thinking too deeply about anything other than how amazingly great he is, compared to all the mere mortals who are lucky enough to share this earth with him.

Can't wait for this. Would love to see Walsh pull it off. Davis looks a very special talent but it's still early days for him and he's on foreign soil so this is a real opportunity for Walsh. Walsh has the slick style to make things difficult for Davis. I think Davis is probably one of those guys who'll always find a way so I fancy him to get to Walsh eventually but I really hope I'm wrong and Walsh pulls it off and finally gets the recognition his talents deserve.
