Just rewatched his two fights with the Klitschko brothers and his left hand is great here. He had Vitali running backwards across the ring in a way I don't think I've seen elsewhere. It was an absolute nightmare for Wlad.
But where did the power come from? Watching those two fights it's a very accurate shot, but it seems to come from just his shoulders, and it's a very short shot unlike your traditional straight right hand.
Corrie Sanders' Left Hand
Re: Corrie Sanders' Left Hand
It's like a poke. He does throw it with forward body momentum so it might be his toes the powers coming from.
I think Vitali was intimidated by the power because of what Sanders did to his bro. He never seemed really hurt just very wary but it's been years since I seen the fights

Watched these two fights very recently....what a warrior Sanders was....he had stunning natural punching ability....I must admit I think vitali was hurt in round one...and staggered on a few other occasions...

Nothing to write home about in any regard.
Re: Corrie Sanders' Left Hand
Nothing like Saad coming in and pouring cold water whenever the K Bros are mentioned.
Sometimes a boxer throws his favorite power punch and it goes right through a seam of a big favorite's defense. Wlad wasn't seeing it. Tall southpaws like Michael Nunn are especially hard to deal with.. You may not have seen that angle before -- or he doesn't have to be tall.. Hatton never saw the KO punch Pacquiao threw.. He was getting blasted with everything from the opening bell.. Sumbu Kalambay was never knocked out in his life except by Michael Nunn.. But right away it looked like Nunn's left would find the mark. BOOM CRASH!! OVER! ... KO of the Year.
Mike Tyson clearly wasn't picking up Buster Douglas's punches that many opponents saw. You're trainer is a certain height. He's doing mitts with you every day. His angles are always the same. You have your favorite sparring partners who throw their favorite punches. That's why it pays to get somebody more your next opponent's height and style, who can imitate peculiarities in his stance and delivery -- like roundhouse shots, overhand shots, arching shots or whatever he throws. Paul Williams had a great chin, but he didn't see Sergio Martinez's KO shot at all. A southpaw blind shot with that much force will ice anyone.

Sanders was a unicorn. A natural athlete with size and strength who had tremendous velocity in his punches.
Gym stories say he hit harder than Lewis or Tyson.

Re: Corrie Sanders' Left Hand
He wasn't a worker or a gym rat...just the opposite as his favorite sport was golf... He wasn't strong and didn't do any strength training.. but he could hit.

Rahman was his daddy.
Re: Corrie Sanders' Left Hand
I know exactly where you're coming from Saad. The usual place... Sanders had Rahman hurt, scored a knockdown, and claimed it was a quick stoppage as Rahman was punching himself out ... The real daddy of this trio was Oleg Maskaev.. He knocked Rahman out twice as an underdog.
