I wonder what happened with Rawling tonight he disappeared from commentary halfway through a fight and never came back, I thought he went for a piss

Seemed to be the little uppercut from Cardoza that caused it, sent Conlan stumbling and Cardoza forced him down with punches from both hands

You have to worry for Conlans long term wellbeing. Takes far too many shots, every fight

Conlan should take this - but be amazed if he ever does more than a Euro title.

Surprisingly fair scoring - Conlan nicks it by the odd round.

I was very close to betting against Conlan pre fight. I expect he will be very good value to bet against during his career.

Ive got it even 114-114, cant split them I wouldn't argue either way, both guys had their success , Conlan had the cuter shots but he was always open to the right hands and surprisingly it was Cardoza who looked the stronger, he hurt Conlan a few times including the knockdown, the bell couldn't come quick enough, Cardoza finished the stronger but Jamie showing again what a fighting heart he has

Conlan looked a bit caught inbetween styles tonight, clearly the tactics were not to get too wreckless but he was too stand offish, tried to rely on counters and stayed in range too long and the smaller Cardoza had no problem in landing the right, Conlan has too get the balance right between boxing and fighting

Good fight though

good summary.
I had 115-112 Conlan.
He picked up a lot of the early rounds with the classier boxing.

The British/Irish guys at 112/115/118 need to get over to the Ohashi gym, or the Ioka gym and get the hard sparring over there, rather than spending time doing what they are doing over here. They'll develop so much more in those gyms than the bouts they are having over here...

commentary worked tonight.if anything its definitely proven you can put two knowledgable boxing people both playing the role of co commentator.the standard way of doing it having one guy calling what we can all see in front of us is outdated.

I love Jamie conlan and my brother says he's the nicest
Man in boxing he's met but I just can't fathom how he won tht. Was on the back foot while fight and didn't let his hands go. He did start well but after 3 he began to unravel. The punch stats would be very interesting in that. One counter a round doesn't win fights. Allegedly needs to make the man a world title fight cause he can't keep doing that. That's very risky to his health. I ain't a boxing genius but these Nicaraguans if you give them notice and fights at there correct weight then they give anyone a decent fight. I hope Jamie gets his world title fight next

Oh yes I totally agree, I don't think with the media / broadacasting coverage nowadays, you will never have the classic legends we used to have i.e Carpenter

A lot of its down to social media nitpicking with there own views

Thats the same with all sports now in general
