Wlad or AJ. Who do you want to win?
Re: Wlad or AJ. Who do you want to win?
The Better man.
I respect both fighters
I respect both fighters
Re: Wlad or AJ. Who do you want to win?
AJ
AJ is British.
Wlad is yesterday's news.
An AJ win would be better for boxing, we need young talent to take the sport forward.
AJ is giving boxing more of a profile in this country and that has to be a good thing, right?
I actually like AJ and I don't get all the hate.
There, I've said it.

This. Wlad is a gent but not exactly exciting. Humble Anthony all the way.Syntax Error wrote:Joshua.
I'm bored of Wladimir & he's had his time.
He's a decent & dignified guy, but his HW reign was one of the dullest in living memory & I just don't think he is part of HW future at pushing 42 years old.
Re: Wlad or AJ. Who do you want to win?
I am equally perplexed by the need to be a fan of a fighter just because he is from your country. It is not nation v nation, it is a sport of man against man, support who you like and be done with it.davie wrote:I know there's a bit of stick on here for his humbleness and his promoter
But even at that, I'm shocked a UK board would be in favour of Wlad.
I've got my gripes with the Matchroom hype machine and AJ's persona but not to the extent I'd not support the UK fighter
Wlad's no angel himself as we seen during the Fury fight. He fights dirty, he negotiates dirty and he's as well managed a brand in Germany as we will find under Eddie Hearn
As for personality. He's as wooden as Pinocchio's pecker.
It's not even as if his fights are edge of the seat stuff either.
I'm perplexed
One of my all time favs is Ali. If he faced AJ in a time machine fictional match up, would i be expected to cheer against my old time hero? Would you cheer against Ali just because AJ is British?
TBH frank that seems perplexing and pretty dumb. DIg deeper and nations and borders are man made and do not really exist. We are all citizens of the planet and creation anyway.
Re: Wlad or AJ. Who do you want to win?
I would like Aj to win, but equally if WK serves it too him I would be happy to see a last hurrah for WK. No doubt its a fascinating fight, one I will do PPV, for but I am more excited about Tyson Fury return.
I think it's worth pointing on here that many were complaining about Joshua's continuation of fighting cans and lack of development, so fair play for putting him in the WK. I think after Brezeale's last fight the other evening in the US we can view that a better challenge than most of us thought at the time also.

I will be cheering for Klit but think AJ will win by TKO. Vlad past his prime imo. I hope he proves me wrong
Re: Wlad or AJ. Who do you want to win?
Klitschko Klitschko
Re: Wlad or AJ. Who do you want to win?
Aj, Klit bores me

Always liked Wlad and watching him tonk a young lion would satisfy me but being dispassionate still leans me towards preferring an AJ win. Fury v AJ is what I want to see.

I'd say AJ only because I will then be hoping he will have some decent fights- where Klits just not involved in entertaining fights

I get what you're saying about Ali.tobyh5 wrote:I had to meditate after writing itdavie wrote:Damn, that's some deep sh1ttobyh5 wrote:

If one of my favourites from over seas, such as GGG, Chocolatito or Lomachenko came over and fought someone I didn't like from the UK, I might back the foreign fighter......in extreme circumstances.
But for the most part I tend to support the local man and in this case, I don't dislike AJ, just some of the crap that surrounds him. By and large I'm in his corner and I certainly wouldn't put Wlad on my list of favouritess. No hatred for the man, got nothing but respect for what he has done in his career.
But as I said, he's not exactly squeaky clean himself, he certainly isn't up there with my favourite fighters from foreign shores and I'm a little confused that there would be so much animosity towards AJ that a British board would overwhelmingly favour a foreign fighter over him

I like both, but I'm rooting for Wladimir Klitschko.
However, I expect Joshua to beat age 41 Wlad.

AJ, he's a Brit and he generates big money so we could see some massive fights soon, he might even tempt that Shit3 house Wilder over for a scrap.

After the Tyson, Lewis era's I hated the Klitschko rubbish. Poor contender after poor contender. Boredom. I want Wladimir to get KTFO and then ride off into the sunset.

It's win win for me.
If Wlad loses then we have no more boring German productions. A new era is cemented and we have a genuine superstar in Joshua.
If Joshua loses then we get to see Hearns face!
And all the "casuals" (hate that phrase) will be wondering what the f happened!

Joshua, simply for the future of the heavyweight division, not because he's British. The king is dead, long live the king etc . . .

This on top of, the idea of some great fights that we will see if AJ wins. Wilder & Parker are all possible if AJ wins because they all seem to sound like they want to fight each other.Syntax Error wrote:Joshua.

Re: Wlad or AJ. Who do you want to win?
I'm a genuinely big fan of both guys in and out of the ring. There's clearly a lot of flaws from a boxing or persona point of view, but the way they don't have to bitch at one another to sell the fight, I got a lot of time for that.
However I will be siding with Joshua on this one. I have been a big fan since the Olympics, and like the way he conducts himself in the ring. I think he trains properly, is learning quickly, and will just have too much for Klitschko to handle.
