Bellew vs Tarver

Post by Foggy »

Just browsing through boxrec as you do clicking from 1 profile to another, clicks on Antonio Tarver, got me thinking he was an actor in Rocky Balboa, Bellew appeared in Creed, anyone see a fight between these 2 happening?

Even if you don't would still appreciate people opinions on who would win either at CW or HW, fire away !

Nice link. :TU:

Can't see them fighting each other though.

Tarver isn't relevant & he's tarnished, plus he's about 60.

Bellew is looking for big paydays & fighting Tarver isn't going to generate that much money.

I don't think it's fair he should fight Mason Dixon until he gives Creed a rematch.

The best Rocky series fight that almost happened was that Tommy Morrison who played Tommy Gunn in 5, was lined up to defend his title against Mike Williams who was defeated by Gunn as Union Cane in the same film.

Morrison was defending his WBO title. Weirdly, as I remember, they didn't make much of this link in promoting the fight. Maybe it was legal issues with Hollywood.

Can't recall the reason but Williams / Cane pulled out hours before the fight and Tim Tomashek was pulled out of the crowd supposedly whilst eating a hot dog and drinking a beer....

A true Rocky like ending was averted however when Tomashek was stopped in 4. I

Id like to see this just for the novelty! Is Tarver still going? He had some issues with juicing didn't he?

Mike doesn't have a picture on his Boxrec profile.
How the fvck couldn't they find a picture of a man that starred in a god damned Rocky movie?

I believe an outside source has to upload it. Just researched that Williams pulled out after refusing a drug test. Kind of nuts as PED abuse is rife in boxing and Morrison admits he was juicing all the time.

He lost a lot of money. Anyone know how much Tomashek was eventually paid??? He seems a right character.

Ps Williams' acting was awful, though I love the Don King character
