They're not elite are they. Like you wouldn't expect Loma to lose a round. Garcia seems to be comfortably making 135 at the moment
Did you expect Loma to lose to Salido? Things don't always turn out the way you'd expect in this sport. That's why we're all on here talking about it most nights. What is elite nowadays? Everyone has their critics. It's a matter of opinion at the end of the day.
I'm gonna sound like a pr*ck here but I actually did pick Salido in that one only cos it was so early for Loma and Salido is a filthy fighter. I picked Salido over Juanma the first time when nobody did. I think there's a difference between LSC and the Loma/Rigo/Garcia and I'd put Russell Jr in that elite class even though he lost to Loma. All of those guys would beat LSC, I think they would all be heavy favorites.
I thought Frampton could compete with those guys before LSC outclassed him. That was a really really bad loss in terms of Framptons legacy.
I find it laughable that people criticize boxers like Frampton and LSC for years for not stepping up but when they do and compete at a high level like LSC has done v Mares and Frampton and Carl has done v Quigg and LSC suddenly neither of them are that good. Same sh!t with Ward and Krusher. Everyone claimed Ward would never face the Russian (I seriously doubted it myself) and when he did and rose from the canvas and came back to get the close decision suddenly neither of those great fighters are as respected.
What a crock of spittal.
That is why I do not want the rubber match between LSC and Frampton yet. Let them fight others and return to this business at a later date.
LSC keeps getting underestimated while he keeps getting better. Maybe he is not as talented as Lomassiah, Rigo or TRex jr. but those who think that he cannot compete and possibly beat them are kidding themselves. Same with Frampton. Same with Krusher and Ward and Mares.
I think everyone thinks ward and Kovalev are the best 175. It's them and then everyone else. If you think LSC or Mares would win a round vs Lomachenko then I don't know what to tell you. LSC was a horrible backfire from Frampton. He picked him because he's basic and a level below the elite but he then got beaten by him. Disaster
Im favour Santa Cruz. He looked very comfortable in that 2nd fight. He seems to have sussed Frampton out. Unless Frampton does something completely different.

Not likely to find out but, while I would certainly favor Lomassiah, I think both LSC would win rounds at 126 and 130, and Mares would win rounds at 126.
I would like to see Frampton v Mares and LSC v TRex jr.

Frampton v Mares would be an excellent match up. I doubt Mares would have any problems travelling to Belfast.

On what grounds mate? I think you're bang wrong FWIW
No way Mares leaves USA.
Makes big money over there especially around LA.
Would take top £ to get him over here which I can't see being generated.
Wouldn't be surprised to see a Mares-LSC rematch.

Yeah I think Mares and LSC will have a rematch too. LSC will see it as an easier prospect than going to Belfast and Mares wants to avenge a defeat more than he would want to go to Belfast. And they'd probably make more money fighting each other than either would make fighting Frampton? If not more, then similar enough.
Frampton Selby is a good fight. Tough one to call. I wonder how the bookies would price it up.

I think it'll be Feampton v Selby next. Frampton will start as favourite but Selby will be an awkward contest if he's anything near 100%. In saying that I thought he looked ghastly at his last weigh in.
Wouldn't mind seeing LSC v Mares again. Enjoyed their first fight.
Mares-LSC was one of the most watched fights in recent US tv history.
One of the few successes of the PBC era.
Frampton-Selby excites me more than Frampton-Santa Cruz 3. But I'm a byist Welshman.
Frampton just missed so many punches in the rematch and was forcing himself... Santa Cruz could take a half a step back and his defence was the blizzard of punches he threw.
Frampton needs to land cleanly to be able to take the play away and he just couldn't do that in the rematch.
He can't KO Cruz and he can't out work him. He needs to get his footwork right and be accurate.

Biased?
Nah, I think that would be a great match.
Selby has the power, footwork and accuracy that Frampton lacks.
I would even go so far as to predict Lee for a KO win.
Then again, Kiwis love the Welsh, so I could be biased as well?
I've always leant towards Frampton since before the first fight but it is obviously very close between the 2 and I don't see that the move to Moore will have improved Carl (in fact I fear it might be a step backward)
Interestingly, the poll was tied 50/50 prior to my vote
