How come the Rahman fight isn't being shown on television in the UK?

Just to rub salt in the wound this weeks BN says that's being shown as part of a free preview weekend on HBO too.

It's ridiculous. Who picks the fights to screen at Sky Sports? They should let the boxrec forum decide what gets aired. :TU:

Or are we getting it a week later?

I was gutted when I checked the television list and saw that it wasn't on. That a the world heavyweight championship fight isn't shown. The last one wasn't either. But that was only Ruiz vs Valuev.

Maybe if not quite as important a fight, the David Haye fight should be good next week. :TU:

received this scant and unsatisfactory response to my complaint email, from [email protected]:

Dear Dan

Thank you for your email about the WBC Heavyweight Fight.

I was concerned to read of your dissatisfaction with Sky Sports not covering the above event. Unfortunately, Sky Sports did not obtain the broadcasting rights.

Sky always welcome viewers' comments and feedback and all the points raised in your email have been noted and passed to Sky Sports for their information.

If you require any further help, please contact me at the above address.

If you would like more information on our services and packages, or you simply want to see what is going on in the world of News, Sport, Movies or Entertainment, please log onto http://www.sky.com <http://www.sky.com/>

Thank you for taking the time to contact Sky.

they're not showing the fight because they "did not obtain the boardcasting rights", this makes it sounds likes someone is showing it otherwise they're just saying we're not showing it cause we're not

No, it just means they didn't obtain the broadcasting rights, which is fornicating obvious we could have worked that out for ourselves, I mean, if they were showing it, then they would HAVE to have the broadcasting rights, and if they had the broadcasting rights then they would SHOW THE FIGHT.

The fact they are not showing it demonstrates that they therefore cannot have the broadcasting rights QED.

Their response is fornicating pathetic. I'm glad I've written an article blasting them, pudenda.

It could be that the british broadcasting rights have be purchased by Fight+ when they signed the deal with Top Rank.

It makes the whole "What do you want to watch?" part sound a bit ironic

I may have been watching Deadwood too much but here is what we do.

We send some guys dressed as Chinamen to off the top guys at Sky, then we use the press and other propaganda means to put people who suit our purpose into their former positions. We then open a saloon, subscribe to Sky and kick back with a shot of whiskey and watch the fight. :TU:

that part of the emailed response really did feel like a kick in the balls.

Very little thought or time went into that email from Gwen so I have sent a mail back asking for the email address of the organ grinder.

Not happy.

Hmm, I think you will find great difficulty in getting that email, it's not a public service company, so they are not obliged to give you those details.

That's one advantage of the BBC, very easy to get hold of emails of even the top boys, I had Greg Dyke's email at one point.
