Andrade used championship work rate to win title

Philadelphia, PA/Bronx, NY/Providence, RI (March 13, 2017)--Newly crowned WBA Junior Middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade threw a staggering 953 punches according to Compubox, in his title win over Jack Culcay this past Saturday in Ludwigshafen, Germany.

Andrade, who many regard as the most talented fighter in the 154 pound division, showed his versatility as divvied up his punch output nicely between jabs and power punches by throwing 519 power punches and 434 jabs.

The junior middleweight average is 684 punches per 12 rounds.

Andrade saved his best work for the home stretch when he threw 91 and 92 punches respectively in the Championship (11th and 12th) rounds. In round 11, he connected on a fight best 40 punches. Andrade outlanded Culcay in 11 of the 12 rounds.

Andrade of Providence, Rhode Island became a two-time champion with a split decision over Culcay be scores of 116-112 twice and 115-114 for Culcay.

Now we will look towards the future, and there are many desirable fights out there. There are the champions like Erislandy Lara, Jarrett Hurd and the Charlo /Hatley winner. Of course the big names in the room are Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin. Those are fights that we would love to make and Demetrius wants them as well. That's the same thing I was saying not to mention he had to adjust to Germany's time zone which HEAVILY affects your sleep pattern. He would

have had to been in Germany at least 2 weeks for his body to become acclimated I've been to Germany and stayed a week. My whole sleep pattern

was out of whack! Andrade fought like a real champion everytime he got hit he responded with combos of his own.

Good win for him especially being over there, and taking a title from the champion. It should have definitely been a UD though. Not his best performance but time zone does affect you some. Now move on to bigger fights and stay busy hopefully. May get bigger fights quicker since he didn't look so dominant.

He definitely won the fight but I wasn't as impressed with him in this fight as I have been previously. And you can't use the time zone as an excuse, every European based fighter has the same issue when they fight in the US but it's never an excuse for them. He didn't land in Germany and suddenly realise it's a different time zone. It's not classified information.

It went 12 they must have trained for the KO in Germany we all know about the shameless judge's over in Germany disappointing from my view thought he would dominate the local and stop him but a point's win in that part of the world is as good as a KO I guess
