I would cash in as soon as i could. I would mouth AJ off or Fury or someone that could sell a shed load of tickets. 1 fight then retire happy and very wealthy then get that Creed2 part.
Re: Tonny bellew
Stay at HW and take the biggest money fight you can. The fluky win over Haye has put him in a lucrative position that he'd be giving away if he retired. I'm sure he's earned some nice money, but I wouldn't think that he's made enough for another major HW payday to be insignificant.

I hope he goes back to cruiserweight, but I totally understand why he probably won't. I imagine he'll take the biggest payday he can get then retire from boxing, while taking a bit of income from various appearences etc. as a minor celebrity. Whatever he does good luck to him (though I don't think he needs it).
Re: Tonny bellew
I'd like him to go back to cruiser. It's an exciting division and it'd be nice to have a Brit in amongst it. Same as you I can understand why he wouldn't. It's just as dangerous for him fighting a top dog at cruiser as it is fighting Wilder or Parker but at heavy he's getting paid a lot more. No brainer really.BitPlayer wrote:I hope he goes back to cruiserweight, but I totally understand why he probably won't. Re: Tony bellew
As a boxing fan id say hes got a lot to prove. He got handed a world title and defended it once against a bum and fulfilled any of his mandatory obligations.Going back down and doing a mandatory then unify would be a real life rocky story imo.thechump wrote:he has nothing left to prove and good luck to the lad
Re: Tony bellew
British, commonwealth, european, world and ppv star id say there is nothing left to prove, everyone on here, including me,has give hima hard time over the years, you could say we underestimated his ability. What u say is your opinion and i respect it buddy but in my eyes he has done the lot and won every title he could as a pro, apart other alphabet belts so good luck to tony in whatever he chooses to doLancashireLoyal wrote:As a boxing fan id say hes got a lot to prove. He got handed a world title and defended it once against a bum and fulfilled any of his mandatory obligations.Going back down and doing a mandatory then unify would be a real life rocky story imo.thechump wrote:he has nothing left to prove and good luck to the lad

If I allowed to be in the position Bellew is right now then I would not be me. Therefore it is impossible to say what I would do in his position being me.
I can tell you what Bellew should do being Bellew. He should go for the biggest money fight out there. And I believe that is exactly what he & Eddie will do.
Which one of those is the biggest fight? I think Haye rematch. I doubt Wilder fight can generate more interest. Fury could do it but Fury wont fight still for a long time, if ever.

Re: Tony bellew
I'd fight Parker as he could win that, whereas he would lose to Haye and all the others.
Re: Tony bellew
I give it three months before monsieur Haye acts like all the good grace after the fight never actually happened, and fires some snidey little comment out and belittles Bellew on a personal and professional level - whilst stating that he failed to put a “crippled fighter” away....that’s what I think will happen.
Re: Tony bellew
This is what i think too,its the easiest route to a 2 weight world title plus i think Parker is only 6,4 so he will only be giving away an inch in height were as deontay is 6,7 and fury 6,9 haye wont be able to fight for at least 6/7 months so i would go with parker. Haye or fury will make him the most money but parker has the title and there is a slim chance he might beat himTopGun wrote:I'd fight Parker as he could win that, whereas he would lose to Haye and all the others.

Re: Tony bellew
I'd like to see him back at cruiser, If I was him I'd want the biggest money fight available so probably Haye rematch can't see him chasing AJ. But can see Eddie trying to get him to go down the Wilder route to build Wilder up for a potential AJ fight
Re: Tony bellew
Fight Haye. Market it as Tony only won because of an injury...which may be right...but Tony gambled on it last time and won. Who's to say it won't happen again.
I hate to say it but I think Haye is finished.

Re: Tony bellew
Rematch Haye, which will be retirement money then pack it in and mix punditry with a bit of acting.
I think he'll do well in character parts, his eyes are made for playing dangerous people and he can speak, could definitely see him doing ok, especially with Creed on the cv.

Re: Tony bellew
I would go back to flightweight, or whatever the weight was he was used to. Daffy Duck was a hypejob, but Bellew would never be able to handle a real heavyweight?
Re: Tony bellew
Stay away from the taller heavies like wilder, aj and fury. Maybe look at the winner of parker v hughie and decide then.
But make the most money possible.

Re: Tony bellew
Rematch with Haye offers probably the biggest financial reward, unless Fury returns and is willing to fight on a Sky PPV.
