I think both Flan and Crolla are bang ordinary by world class standards. Even though Crolla Linares was a close fight and the rematch may be even closer I think that's more to do with "styles make fights" than Crolla supposedly improving to world class.

It's a proper shame that Flan is fighting obscure fighters one after another in pretend world title fights rather than meeting Crolla in a real trade fight.

Flanagan is buying time until he hands his title to Verdejo.

Did you watch his last fight ? He was abolultely dire against a guy blasted out twice at the weight below.

So bad Bob Arum and his trainer said he won't be rushed to a title fight.

I agree that he's a hype but its sets up for him perfectly. Unless Flaningan knocks him out Verdejo win will on the score cards we seen this time in again when a champion goes on road turf without a big punch and loses on points. We've seen this story a million times and this will be no different. There's two type of champions the placeholder for up and comer or a elite champion. A flaningan is a place holder even if I like him as a fighter he fits the criteria of a guy who will get robbed as soon as he fights a bigger name.

Rumour has been about a while that Flanagan v Verdejo is a go in NYC on June 10th (weekend of Puerto Rican day parade).

Personally I think Crolla v Flanagan happens by if not years end, the start of next year.

Crolla without titles, Flanagan potentially without titles and talking of moving up. It'll be a now or never situation, and Crolla would have nothing to lose at that point.

...Or (most unlikely but I'd love it to be so) they both have world titles, and it's a bit of a blockbuster.

It would still be a fight I would want to see but it should have happened last year. Just Joe Gallagher made every excuse under the sun for it not to happen.
