Kemahl Russell: 163.6 lbs
Someone's "0" has got to go. Nice to have boxing on a Tuesday evening.
Two undercard fights.Blodhemn wrote:I laid down, then took a crap. What'd I miss?

Russell is doing okay so far, fighting off the jab.

Nobody can "kill" Derevyanchenko at this weight, because he is so technical and strong. And don't forget that "The Technician" had only two weeks for training. This guy will be a big problem for anyone at 160.Blodhemn wrote:Sergiy isn't terribly accurate to the head and is a bit slow, but you've got to love his commitment to the body, obsessed almost like Jirov. Consistent body attack and jab.
GGG would kill him now, but a few more fights down the road, it'd be the best fight in the division. Sick fight.
Ok Mr Literal. Have it your way. I say he's still too slow and heavy on his feet to escape GGG. His body work could possibly make it interesting, especially in the future as GGG ages and Sergiy peaks.MaxiBoxc wrote:Nobody can "kill" Derevyanchenko at this weight, because he is so technical and strong. Khytrov looked as good in amateurs as Derevo. Derevo could get spoiled by mediocre NY trainers the same way as Khytrov.diddy wrote:Derevyanchenko is better than guys like Khytrov but I still think he will get outboxed when he fights an elusive, skilled guy who can stand up to his body attack. Middleweight stinks tho. Guys I would pick to beat him, not a long list because the division is so poor:
GGG, Jacobs, Charlo. Canelo and Lara. Lemiuex would be a BRAWL.
Willie Monroe would be a good step up fight.
I haven't watched Derevyanchenko before but going by those highlights posted, the only thing technical about him is his nickname.MaxiBoxc wrote:Nobody can "kill" Derevyanchenko at this weight, because he is so technical and strong. Isn't GGG 35 already? Give Derevyanchenko 2-3 years, and he might be #1.candyslim wrote:He's a great addition to the middleweight division. He might not beat Golovkin but you'd give him more of a chance than most.
Tureano Johnson is the person he *should be* targeting. I would hate to see Golovkin take Johnson as a mandatory defense. It's a horrible mandatory, but I think he would be a good casualty that falls to Derevyanchenko on his way to becoming GGG's mandatory.Blodhemn wrote:34, which gives him a few more years at peak. Derevyanchenko should wait on a GGG fight but MW is so weak that he's already the top contender and he's said to want a title shot now. He's getting close to a mandatory spot, but hopefully he'll be facing a higher ranked opponent next.
Your logic looks like the eighth wonder of the world.davie wrote:I haven't watched Derevyanchenko before but going by those highlights posted...MaxiBoxc wrote:Nobody can "kill" Derevyanchenko at this weight, because he is so technical and strong.
