Canada, Switzerland, Las Vegas, all western countries. Same with the alphabet things. I don't see them going out of their way to test the in crowd, Wladimir, Joshua, and Wilder. And it is a microscopic amount of an innocuous drug and they are making a mountain out of a mole hill and their motive is obvious: Povetkin isn't in an in country and part of the in crowd. And I'm not turning a blind eye to drugs in Russia. I'm saying the drug testing business the way it is now isn't fair and is just being used as another instrument of corruption the same as everything else in boxing ever since ito inception. Mobsters are attracted to boxing bcause of its raw violence, and because it is the easiest sport to mess with, just another angle for them to exploit, same ol same ol.

Do you really believe that Wilder and Joshua do not have drug tests?
Do you think Ostarine is an innocuous drug? Do you think that any trace of these drugs is acceptable?
What is unfair about the testing system as you see it?

That is not quite what I said...but If u think boxing in the west in general, and las vegas in particular, isn't corrupt u r pretty silly because they don't even bother to try to hide it any more, they r right in your face with it.
Do they? Is Doc Goodman testing them? Link please. And if she is, who is keeping her honest?Do you really believe that Wilder and Joshua do not have drug tests?
How bad can it be? It was sold in health food stores up until a year ago. The trace amount they claim to have found is miniscule. Nobody is even saying he's some kind of hard core juicer with roids coming out of his ears!Do you think Ostarine is an innocuous drug? Do you think that any trace of these drugs is acceptable?
See all my previous posts. What is unfair about the testing system as you see it?
Just let the guy fight fer petes sake! You have all these junk "championship" fights with Wilder - and now u have Joshua, who has never beaten one top fighter, vs what might or might not be an over the hill Wladimir - and I don't know, Briggs in some ridiculous so called championship fight - and meanwhile u have Povetkin with five great wins in a row and they don't even want to let him in their private boxing club!
If they keep it up half the world - like Russia and China - will pull out and form their own sports organizations.

Re: WBC suspends Povetkin
I wouldn't blame Povetkin for being so upset with the American Civil Justice System that he decides to chuck the sport and do something else...
A lot of people are set up and convicted unjustly... Povetkin is just more high profile than most innocent victims of our justice sysem... It happened to Martha Stewart too... Right wingers wanted her indicted and convicted though she broke no laws... Her only crime was donating hundreds of thousands to Democratic politicians... The main government witness in her trial (Larry Stewart, no relationship) was indicted for perjury because he lied throughout her trial... Somehow that indictment got dropped -- which was really strange because his conviction would have exonerated Martha Stewart.

The rest of the world? You mean the people who are not responsible for testing urine samples? Or the people who are not responsible for keeping sport clean? It's amazing that all the people who are least informed on the details of Povetkin's case are the most qualified to pass judgement.asdfjkl wrote:WADA and VADA might not have a clue what they are doing, the rest of the world already does and know very well that Povetkin is right and innocent.Rob3_142 wrote:These are not naturally expected limits. Re: WBC suspends Povetkin
I think it is all relative. If you consider corruption across sport as a whole, it's rife. It's not great. But sport still has to carry on. We have to make the most of this bad situation. I still believe that on the face, sport is credible, otherwise nobody would ever be found out for failed drug tests. I believe the truth will eventually surface, which is exactly what happened with Lance Armstrong, and is currently happening with the state sponsored doping in Russia.x2x wrote:Rob3_142 wrote: So that's it, it's the West, so it's corrupt?

Joshua is not tested by VADA, he's tested by UKAD. Just as Wilder is tested by USADA, and Povetkin is tested by RUSADA. Joshua is not ranked by the WBC, so is not inclined to be enrolled on the VADA CBP. I know this is not a reputable source, but just an indication of Joshua's testing protocol with UKAD.x2x wrote:Do they? Is Doc Goodman testing them? Link please. Ostarine is similar in its mode of action as anabolic steroids, but is more selective in its action. Ostarine can increase physical stamina and fitness. It has been banned since 2009. He may well not be juicing like a body builder, but it an athlete training to gain an unfair advantage. It's simple, if the drug does not apply a benefit to the athlete, then do not take it. But he clearly did. And the trace measured is likely the remnants of a larger dose in the past.x2x wrote:How bad can it be? It was sold in health food stores up until a year ago. Povetkin is more than welcome to fight providing that he follows the rules. The rules have not cropped up over night, they have always been there. Cheating is not acceptable, and if he does not want to compete fairly, he will not be allowed to compete at all. Russia and China are always more than welcome to start their own sporting organisation. I personally would not miss them. Seems more of a hassle to have them as part of the world organisation.x2x wrote:See all my previous posts. What is unfair about the testing system as you see it?

They are informed in detail and in independent, they are people that know their facts and are qualified to give a fair judgement.

How often do you see anyone persuade anyone else of anything? People argue, sometimes debating politely, more often, especially in a place like this, just rudely cursing...but how often do you see someone say, "You have persuaded me. You were right and I was wrong"?

Human beings are irrational, devious, selfish, frightened, violent, immoral creatures driven by the need to survive and reproduce. Thousands of years of civilization have done little to change basic behaviour. It's just the level of propaganda that's evolving.
However if we must insist on believing in justice, then perhaps we could start by looking at the fairness of punishment handed out, and by whom. If we can establish a sense of fairness in human interactions - of course nature has its own idea of fairness - then we can begin to create a sense of community.
Its probably the best we can do.
