I think some people are giving DJ too much credit based on him doing better than expected

I thought GGG just edged it. Though you could easily score it to Jacobs for fighting a great Mayweather style defensive battle. Feel a UD a bit harsh as would have perhaps thought a SD maybe fairer.
I was impressed by the power of GGGs Jan that snapped Jacobs head back.
I know Barry Jones had for Jacobs and can respect that view.
Though it's only a stat I will be interested to see the compubox punch data.

Does Golovkin even understand what he's being asked???

All he says is, this is boxing, this is boxing!!! :OhYes:

Don't get me wrong, I thought it was close and people were underestimating GGG's jab and the fact that Jacobs' flurries were often hitting gloves or air, but GGG's workrate just wasn't there. Felt he strugggled with Jacobs' movement and didn't cut the ring off as well as normal, while the combinations and body shots were noticeable by their absence.

I didn't score it, but certainly didn't give Jacobs the first 3 rounds like commentators did. Very pro Jacobs from Barrie tonight, or maybe I was being pro GGG .

GGG looks past his best now at 35 (in couple weeks)

Ya, he looked poor, and I wouldnt moan if Jacibs got it, but the jab was still working and Danny was missing a lot with those flurries.

Golovkin has looked distinctly mediocre by his standards in his last two fights.

I agree

Jacobs did nothing in the first and GGG's jab was getting there...giving that to DJ suggests that Golovkin wasnt getting enough credit for the jab. Danny far more flashy, but I thought the actual work of note was fairly evenly distributed, with GGG just edging it for me.

116-111 Jacobs for me, I thought he was the busier, quicker off the mark and usually had the last word in the exchanges, Golovkin scored a nice knockdown in the 4th with a lovely double right hand but GGG always had the look of 2nd best tonight IMO, always chasing shadows and even though GGG still looked sharp when he unloaded , Jacobs made him look a bit old

Compubox..
GGG: 231/615 - 126/259 on power
Jacobs: 175/541 - 144/371 on power..
GGG overall 37.6%
Jacobs overall 32.3%
GGG worked the jab much more accurately..

Had it for Jacobs, never thought he'd be able to take GGGs power so hats off to him.
Maybe I was a bit influenced by Barry Jones calling it. But before watching it again I must say I agree with our Bazza..

Agree...a lot of people not scoring thd jab apparently, and swayed by Danny's flashier looking shots

Giving the first to Danny is nonsense

Jacobs for me. GGG outworked. No output in some rounds. He's ageing quickly.

Looks like Canelo and Golden Boy have timed it to perfection.

Yet again we score a fight nearly the same. 115-112 for me.

No way on this planet GGG outworked Jacobs.
People giving him rounds for just being GGG

However you scored the fight, you have to take compubox stats with a pinch of salt.

I watched the HBO broadcast and lederman had it 114-112 for triple G.

I didn't score it but I feel like Jacobs won. I might feel differently when I go back and score it round by round.
