Blimey, do I detect a swing in the opinions here boy's?
Why is it news that Hatton has turned down Witter? He's been doing that for years, I've told you that before and you lot just wouldn't have it.
These idiots are going to drive Hatton's career into the ground and fornicate up everything that's been done by others (and him) to get him where he is. Between them they can't even find an opponent for the supposed best in the division and I assume for a a big payday too. Why is that then? Is it because they are hoarding all the money for Ricky and there's nothing left for the opponent, possibly, no probably. Is that not what Naz, Jones Jnr and Fraudly did before they nosedived? Has Team Hatton not learned from their mistakes?
The whole thing is becoming a farce. Hobson, Waterman, Hatton Snr and Graham between them are screwing up Ricky's career and making him a laughing stock in world Boxing. HBO, Showtime and now Sky are losing interest and where will that leave him, holding his prick, that's where.
He made a massive, massive mistake leaving allegedly and to add to his problems has now been knocked off the box by Calzaghe, Khan and on ITV making him very nearly yesterday's news. The MEN was nearly full for a Welshman versus a Yank due to proper promotion and the same undercard fighters that Hatton rode on. To me he looked sick when he was there and the penny must have dropped cos he snuck off at the end looking green with envy. Warren, as usual, has carried on and now being the only promoter with a firm TV deal and a top stable of fighters looks set to clean up. Ricky has hardly been missed has he.
Now, to add to his problems and those of Fight Academy, rumours are rife that Sky are about to drop UK Boxing, due to the messing around of their current crop of Promoters and the almost monthly cancellations of shows, and only buy in US tapes leaving most of UK boxing totally screwed and possibly in the wilderness.
The latest thing Hobson is claiming is that he hs done a deal wih Don King for Hatton to fight Luis Collazo for the WBA Welterweight title. Hatton will beat Collazo without doubt, he has a china chin, but do you really think that DK is just going to throw Collazo in for Hatton to beat up without any options? No way. If DK has his way Hobson and Waterman will be yesterday's news and Hatton will be sucked into the DK fold like a fly up a hoover leaving the others high and dry.
If Hatton wants to take over the States he needs someone with experience to help him not the likes of his Dad, Pellulo and FA who between them couldn't promote the second coming of Jesus Christ himself.
It's sad but true, like the others before him, Hatton is about to finad out that his success was not just down to him alone.
It's eight weeks to go and where are we, no firm venue, (Sheffield is on hold) no opponent (Why not Witter or M'baye, both fit and available) and to top all this Hatton looks as big as his Dad's ego.
All in all the future for Hatton looks shaky and he hasn't stepped in the ring yet!
As for returning to Warren, what will he do if the door is shut, warren might not actually WANT him back with his baggage.

That's the thing Boxingchat, it's not a 'swing in opinion', most of the guys on here just call it as they see it and I think they have seen it that Hatton has finally deserved some credit over the last 12 months with the Tszyu and Maussa wins.
There isn't some blinkered Hatton bias thing going on, most of these guys were boxing fans before Frank gave you your first admin assistant job.
You are just pro Sports Network and would be if they bombed your house and family. Lirva is pro-Witter and would be if he caught Junior knobbing his mum.
We call it is we see it (most of us), you should have seen the stick Hatton used to get before the Tszyu fight....

Your so full of shit...You only sold 8 thousand tickets...i checked with ticket master... half of ringside were free tickets given to your boxers so the place wouldnt look so empty...... People were getting free upgrades on the night....come on you should of had the fight at the CIA. would of looked full then. The MEN was nearly full for a Welshman versus a Yank due to proper promotion and the same undercard fighters that Hatton rode on
There's only one promoter who has got the real big experience in America and that is Frank Maloney.... and I am sure it was part of the contract that Maloney wouldn't be allowed anywhere near Hatton because we all know he has the contacts to take Hatton to the States and make him a big star........
"Boxing Chat your boss is obviously worried that's why he moved his show to Belfast to scupper Maloney's plans and also he's picking up all of Maloney's cast offs in Oakey and Danny 'The Brat' Hunt..
The forum could do without personal digs like that, especially from a bloke behind the safety of his keyboard.boxingchat wrote:When you were inside Steve, did your cell mate top himself by overdosing on your side-splitting wit or was you down the landing, all alone, as I suspect?![]()

Thats the sort of comment you save for a face to face.
Perhaps Boxingchat can confirm (its is a question not a dig).
Didn't Hatton once sign a contract with Warren, which said a summer showdown (cannot remember the year) with Witter have to happen? Second question - wasn't this stipulation a request by the Manchester Hitman?
Wasn't it all set for Maine Road but Hatton got a cut (something tells me it was Phillips).
If it is yes and yes to the questions asked in the first paragraph - then how can it be claimed that Hatton is ducking Witter.
I do agree with your view though, especially concerning Art Puello. Had a conversation about this on another forum (with a guy with experience in handling big named fighters) - short term gain, but long term loss. Puello offered rediculous sums to get the signature, but cannot deliver.
Infact here is the post in its entirity- see what you guys think.
"I think a big problem is that Art Pelullo signed him for outrageous numbers that no other promoter could match but also made it difficult for the networks to fulfill. Obviously, Ricky wants a not so tough first fight in the US but if HBO is going to pay big bucks, they want a tough competitive fight. It's the same old story, fighter signs big money deal and then tries to fight the easiest fights and still make the money. Not that I blame him - it's just the way it is. "

Faith is being lost in Pelullo's ability to deliver a big fight. The venue is 90% certain to be Foxwoods.
Pelullo missed out on Baldomir by trying to get him on the cheap and now he's stuck. My opnion is that Ricky will be forced into fighting Harris who'd take the fight for peanuts and be acceptable to the networks. It's a no win fight for Ricky.
The alternative is to scrap the US date and get Ben Rabah out of the way. Problem is by doing that Ricky gives up a massive US purse that is way, way beyond what he could earn in the UK.

A number of American scribes were a bit surprised when Hatton did the deal with Pelullo, as his influence in the sport isn't the greatest. I think the deal with Foxwoods and the site fee must have been the clincher, but really, should Hatton be fighting at bloody foxwoods?
Hatton went on about how he wanted to fight in Madison Square Gardens and the MGM after the Tszyu fight, then he signs a deal to go and fight in Connetticut?
