Hagler Leonard again-this time Hagler got it

Post by Bricks »

A formidable world champion who has reigned the entire decade now looking slow and aged like never before versus the cocky comeback kid with the winning story......30 years ago almost to the week and now a rerun....this time Hagler got it....

Mark my words GGG is ....like Hagler....a spent force...he should retire after his Kazakhstani home coming.

He has got more than enough for soul Alvarez but soul will not fight him

A rematch with Jacobs isn't fiscally significant enough...and now he"s fading ward,Stevenson and kovalev are a step too far

With a tear in my eye...time to retire G

I can't tell if I am biting here, but I think this may be a slight overreaction...everyone has bad days at the office

an athletic, big black Jermaine Taylor with added brains type of boxer would always have been the type I would put in with GGG to give him problems. It turned out Jacobs was smarter and has less of the Jermaines to him than I thought

By the way I do think last nights fight indicates that Hopkins of the Tito fight would beat GGG

That's how it seems to be working out

Even the minor success that Nelson had against GG suggested an athletic type with balls and brains and enough toughness would be a good match for GGG. I just didn't think Jacobs was that man

GGG is probably on the slide but let get it right here,
he still beat not only a guy that is probably the 2nd best in the division but a guy that had a style that could cause him problems.

The rematch will be a tough fight no doubt, but he can win that
I don't think many ever thought Canelo was going to be a walk in the park, but for me GGG still has it in him to win that and Canelo doesn't have the style that will trouble him like Jacobs did and he wants BJS next, who he will smash to fulfill his dream.
So there's options and potential big wins left for triple G

I'd like to see him get all the belts, so I'd love to see BJS next and let him fulfill his dream in his homeland, let him get the big cash out fight vs Canelo

then if we still really want it....next year, Jacobs can have another go and if GGG is on the slide he will be sufficiently gone to hand over the crown to arguably the best 160lb competition out there.

Aah Yes Jermain taylor....that was exactly what I was thinking during Jacobs best minutes boxings.

I was thinking Taylor had a much faster jab and better movement.

I think now people , sheep people on forums, may finally stop the better than Hagler one of the best MW's of all time exaggerations

Jacobs is a decent middleweight, he isn't Leonard.

Not meant literally.

Just in a sense Jacobs with his comeback, his showboating and weak flurries against a formidable long running champion....the closeness of the fight .....
