Jirov fought well though...he was so offensively minded that every time he hit Toney with something substantial, which he did on a few occasions, Toney would counter him with 3 good shots.

That was a textbook example of how a counterpunching, good chinned fighter can be a dominant boxer.

Was it after the Holyfield fight when he was shouting 'Next.....Who's Next????" into the camera?

His schooling over Jirov for the cruiser title in one of my favourite exhibitions of boxing ever/ Hes got an almighty mouth on him, but he can back every word up in the ring.

:box: Legend :box:
Toney in the press conference after the first McCallum fight took exception to the constant comments coming from McCallum's bespecaled, slightly built lawyer.

"I'll fukc you up you blind ba5tard" was Toney's response, as he made a dash for the stunned legal man. Toney had to be restrained by several of his entourage.

I don't know if he is so much any more, but back then Toney was a very angry young man with a short fuse and a big chip on his shoulder regarding his dad abandoning him and his mother years before.

Still, his skills are a joy to watch and his trash talking is amongst the best at any weight.

Rahman's arms are huge in the photo of him the scales, and he weighs less than Toney!

Toney is not in shape, and has not been for years! Rahman looks in condition. Hasim is a big guy, you can see this just by him on the scales.

Imagine if Toney was not such a good technician? There's no way he could rely on his fitness/conditioing in fights!

Toney by SD, but I will not be surprised in Rahman wins!

Yep, Jackie Kallen, after he got whupped by Roy Jones he was a little unhappy at the her making the fight happen.

also threatened to shoot Jeff Fenech because Danny Green mouthed off at him during sparring, not sure whether that was a joke or not, neither was Fenech..

Do you remember when they had Toney on the pre Benn v Eubank II show.
He just went mad and said he would beat both of them in the same night

That was class. Was funny as hell and put the fight into perspective.

Not being funny here Topper but given your ability on howitzers, when it was on, hearing you go for Rahman has put a dark cloud over my head, can't you change that to a Toney late KO for my peace of mind man?! :TU:

I realise I'm coming across as a bit of a Toney nuthugger as some of you chaps say but fook it, he is the Man.
I rate Toney, think he is an all time great, but as i've already said i think Rahman will win, just have a feeling on this one, I feel rahman will have to much Strength and his main weapon will be the jab.

Although its hard to see his waist, I think Toney looks in much better shape than he did for the Rydell Booker match - he was huge in that one also. Possibly his worst performance in his second coming as a heavyweight though.

I'm pretty sure Fenech knew Toney was talking out of his arse; didn't he tell Toney to go home and get his gun? I honestly can't see Fenech being scared of anyone, so being badmouthed by Toney is unlikely to even raise an eyebrow.

I had Toney as a nailed-on banker for this one, but the ever-increasing weight is a worry. Still think he'll win, but it's more like 70-30 now. It'll be interesting, if Rahman can catch him, to see what happens when Toney gets hit by a heavyweight puncher, but Rahman just seems to lazy to outwork Toney.
