Always Golovkin shows big respect to his opponents pre / post fight but some of them are so stupid and cocky acting like sore losers. I can't understand why some people could hate or don't like Golovkin. Dude is a class act and a true example for this sport.

All fighters adopt a theatrical persona, whereby they either play the role of the respectful smiley-faced "hero" or they pretend to be stereotypical pantomime "villain".

Golovkin does criticise his rivals occasionally and he does have other flaws. However, his English isn't good enough to pretend to be the gobby cocky and aggressive "villain", which is the reason why he plays the role of the "good guy" with the accent that overuses catch-phrases.

Boxers will do their upmost to put cheeks on seats and sell PPV's.

If you look at the vast majority of fighters, their public persona is either the "hero" or the "villain"... and in the real-world, most of us are something in between.

Fighters are media savvy, because they have to be, since their behaviour affects their income.

Just don't buy into boxing's WWE-like heel/face antics, since you're not witnessing the real-life personalities of fighters.

I don't find him to be humble at all.

He seems very arrogant to me.

..yep, I've heard and seen quite a few of his interviews in Russian..he's very articulate and humble at the same time..actually I've not seen that many Russian boxers, if at all, who would run their mouth hoping to earn an extra buck..

Yeah call me gullible but I don't think it's an act. I think he's genuine, respectful and a gentleman. He also has great confidence in his ability which isn't the same thing as arrogance. While I don't agree with those of you who almost want to deify him, I think he's a very good fighter and a fine champion, but overrated in some quarters. I like him a lot.

Another reason why GGG is the best MW in history. He's selling tickets left and right on ability. He's not doing this WWE act like Floyd did trying to make people hate him enough to pay for his PPV in the case he gets beat. People are behind him because he's everything that you want in a champion. He does EVERYTHING by the book and cares about the correct things, unifying titles and fighting the biggest fights out there.

We are in the midst of a resurgence of boxing and GGG has a huge part in the reason why it's happening. Better fights are being made, of course, and Wlad is going to be wiped off the face of the boxing earth soon so those factors help but GGG should be given a lot of credit for boxing's success right now. He's the sports best embasador right now.

To be regarded as a great champion you have to fight great or near great fighters. I don't see any names on his record that come close to being thought of as anything special. It's not his fault but the answer is to fight out of his weight class and he doesn't seem too interested in doing that.

You don't have to go too far back to find people with better MW GOAT credentials ... Hopkins for one (not that I think he is but he is in the reckoning I'd say)

He isn't properly humble like AJ for instance.
