You had GGG needing a knockout by the tenth. I was following your RBR and the guardians cause i couldn't be bothered to come downstairs.
I did, but I think I may have been a bit generous to Jacobs with the first few rnds, he really got going later on though. It was a close fight I guess G is the champ and you have to rip the belts away. He looked vulnerable though, which is something I've never seen before, I'd like to see a rematch, I think both would commit more and take more risks next time around.
I watched it in the morning and thought GGG was better early but got out hustled later on. I had Jacobs by a point in the end.

Surprised how Barry Jones gave all the opening three rounds to Jacobs. Not much in it but I had it 2-1 Golovkin after 3. Surprised to how the judges all had Jacobs winning the final two rounds.

Just different opinions.

I dont agree with all that "he is the champ and you have to rip the belt away" its a fight and it gets scored rnd by rnd, remember ODLH vs Mayweather? He didnt rip the belt off DLH but got the nod, calzaghe vs hopkins? Calzaghe got put down in rnd 1 and it was very close but he got the nod on the no.1 LH in hopkins. You box ur fight and if the judges think u won the rnd u get the 10-9 ,if i heard a judge say well he nicked the round but the other guy is the champ so im giving it to the champ cause he didnt rip the round from him i would think that judge is corrupt, its a stupid saying (not you i mean the saying itself)

I agree, it often seems the case though, Jacobs should defiantly get a rematch if he wants

This exactly for me too . Couldn't give Jacobs more than 4 rounds . Will go against everybody else and say it wasn't that close .
Well thats ur opinion but plenty of times GGG came in and in a trade jacobs outlanded GGG and out jabbed GGG throughout the fight,GGG was baffled by jacobs switching stances which GGG couldnt get enough on the right hand to have an effect
:o I think him switching stances confused himself more than it did Golovkin and he got caught regularly when he did it .

Come on I watched round one last night and there was not a dogs hair between the two and in slow motion I might had get real if you can find a way to show me how he out landed Jacobs in round one then i'll run nude through the local police station in over 40 years of being around this game you do not give a close round to the Champion for old times sake be f.cked if that was the way it worked than every contender on the planet should retire and let the Champs have there little fantasy world's GGG did the same amount of work as Jacobs in that first round if your being fair mate and what about round 12 the sh.t Kellerman said he thought who ever won the last round won the fight on his card well be f.cked round 12 was the same as round 1 not a dog's hair between the two fighter's but aye Kellerman gave the 12 and deciding round of the fight according to Kellerman to you guessed it the Champ some people have bagged Jacobs for bringing up the so-called super fight between Canelo/GGG and talking the truth he aint the draw that these other 2 are so he knows how the boxing business works i won cash on GGG but it almost didn't feel right i hope there is a KO if Canelo finally stops running and fights GGG it will almost kill the game if the dec isn't the rightful one and we all know about the judge's and Canelo remember the Mayweather fight he even got a draw on one judge's card :witzend: get real your idiot judge's :KO:

No what Jacobs did was make GGG think he's not very good at thinking and fighting Jacobs showed that :bag:

Anyone have Kov and Jacobs winning, or Ward and GGG? Seems like the latter combo is particularly rare....

That there is a correlation between who people scored for? It seems that way to me, which makes sense given the nature of the bouts and the profiles of the fighters.

Im just curious to see who didnt go Ward/Jacobs or Kov/GGG, and, in particular, if anyone here had Ward and GGG winning.

Now that I think of it, I believe that Graham Houston did as well.

Both were really close but I thought the decisions were correct. Hopefully get to see both again but the PPV numbers might mean we don't.

I originally thought Jacobs deserved the nod but after reading a lot of people leaning towards GGG I re-watched last night, this time ignoring Barry Jones' card on BN, and I have to say I had GGG winning on the second viewing.

Think I had it 7-5 with the knockdown offering a further point gap. I don't usually let the commentary sway my opinion but with this close fight it clearly did.

GGG should have thrown more leather, but he did control the fight.

Also agree with whoever praised Jacobs' corner man. I thought he was excellent in giving advice. So clear and precise in what he wanted from his fighter.

I felt like Jacobs did enough to nick it, the UK commentary was quite pro-Jacobs though so maybe had an influence on me. I did think GGG looked quite basic in there, without his power he'd really struggle. Jacobs was definitely doing the more flashy work, but it was a lot on the back foot so you have to give GGG some credit for trying to make the fight.

Very, very close fight. The knockdown was almost the only thing that separated them by the end.

I think people are rushing in to give GGG a bashing. I expected more from GGG, but for me this is the number 1 and number 2 middleweights in the world and Jacobs is not someone GGG could just walk through. It should be a tough, close fight, and it was IMO.

I'd like to see them do it again and hope for a more clear-cut result.

It was odd, because here was the supposed devastating puncher ( the uber tough Macklin saying no one had ever hit him harder ) whose punches were just bouncing off Jacobs, someone previously flattened by a not particularly hard puncher ....

Jacobs got dropped in the 4th and was clearly hurt in the 9th, so I'm not sure if I'd say the shots merely bounced off him, but he did show more durability than expected. His defense was also fairly good when it came to avoiding power shots, though I thought he was getting tagged with solid jabs fairly regularly.

The knockdown wasn't heavy he was more square on, he was never badly hurt, in fact he was teak tough...quite a change up from the boxer we'd seen dropped & poleaxed by not particularly noted punchers.

Although admittedly he looked like a light heavyweight against a middleweight in there.

115-112 Jacobs for me. I thought he outworked GGG in some rounds.
