I don't believe that information has been announced yet, but if I was to hazard a guess: Golovkin = 175lbs; Jacobs = 178lbs; and PPV buys = 180K.apollo creed wrote:The weights of both fighters (GGG and Jacobs) on fight night and the PPV numbers ??

Yeah I also think these may be close to the real ones.Enlightened-One wrote:I don't believe that information has been announced yet, but if I was to hazard a guess: Golovkin = 175lbs; Jacobs = 178lbs; and PPV buys = 180K.apollo creed wrote:The weights of both fighters (GGG and Jacobs) on fight night and the PPV numbers ??

Of course, I don't know, but, let us try to guess...ValMar wrote:Golovkin = 172 lbs, Jacobs =179 lbs, PPV buys = 170K....apollo creed wrote:Yeah I also think these may be close to the real ones.Enlightened-One wrote: I don't believe that information has been announced yet, but if I was to hazard a guess: Golovkin = 175lbs; Jacobs = 178lbs; and PPV buys = 180K.

I read an article saying GGG was 170lb on fight night and Jacobs was 'believed to be 7lb heavier'.

Golovkin weighed in 169.6lbs at the official 9am IBF second-day weigh-in, which meant that he only barely made the stipulated 10lbs rehydration weight gain limit.jezzamundo wrote:I read an article saying GGG was 170lb on fight night and Jacobs was 'believed to be 7lb heavier'.
Assuming GGG dried-out slightly for that weigh-in, since he only just managed to retain his IBF crown on the scales, he probably would have gained at least another 4lbs come fight night.
He probably weighed more than he normally does for fights, since it was the first time for a very long while that he faced a legitimately bigger opponent that was universally-regarded as a top-ten world-rated fighter.

Jacobs looked like a natural 168 pounder. He's a big framed mw.

My guess: Golovkin 172, Jacobs 180, 220-230K.

Jacobs weighed the same Canelo would weigh versus GGG.
HBO kept mentioning it as a preemptive excuse.

One thing seems to have become very clear; 3G will be severely challenged if he goes up in weight.

Yes, he must stay at MW.Tanzio wrote:One thing seems to have become very clear; 3G will be severely challenged if he goes up in weight.

He can fight at 168, but not at 175.ValMar wrote:Yes, he must stay at MW.Tanzio wrote:One thing seems to have become very clear; 3G will be severely challenged if he goes up in weight.

“Triple-G beats everybody that’s out there right now, including Kovalev,” Sanchez said to Behind The Gloves.com. “But we’re not at 175, so it’s not something that’s up for discussion. But I think Triple-G would beat Kovalev. I think Triple-G would beat Andre Ward, I think Triple-G would beat Stevenson. But right now we’re at 160 and until we move up then we can talk about those [match-ups], because I think they could be possibilities in the future.”boxing_rocks wrote:He can fight at 168, but not at 175.ValMar wrote:Yes, he must stay at MW.Tanzio wrote:One thing seems to have become very clear; 3G will be severely challenged if he goes up in weight.

I think he can beat some guys at 168. He's too small for 175. Jacobs was the much larger man last night. He has a perfect body for 160 and should honestly stay there. That and maybe meet some 154 guys at 157 or so.boxing_rocks wrote:He can fight at 168, but not at 175.ValMar wrote:Yes, he must stay at MW.Tanzio wrote:One thing seems to have become very clear; 3G will be severely challenged if he goes up in weight.

Sanchez can fantasize about whatever he chooses to. There will be no doing of what he is wetdreaming.Enlightened-One wrote:“Triple-G beats everybody that’s out there right now, including Kovalev,” Sanchez said to Behind The Gloves.com. “But we’re not at 175, so it’s not something that’s up for discussion. If Team GGG insist on continuously perpetuating myths that they have no intention of proving, even if their lies are predominantly told by Sanchez, then Golovkin will remain vulnerable to receiving criticism.Tanzio wrote:Sanchez can fantasize about whatever he chooses to. I sincerely believe that GGG's reputation would be far better off if Abel Sanchez refrained from exaggerating his talents to preposterous proportions to the media.

Jacobs was likely the same size as Froch last night. Whatever Algieri did worked well. Of course, skipping same day weigh-in wasn't a fair play.armageto wrote:I think he can beat some guys at 168. It was fair enough, GGG couldn't have cared less.boxing_rocks wrote:Jacobs was likely the same size as Froch last night. Whatever Algieri did worked well. Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs) weighed 170 pounds on HBO’s unofficial scale Saturday night. Brooklyn’s Jacobs (32-2, 29 KOs) wouldn’t allow HBO to weigh him Saturday night, but said following his unanimous-decision defeat to Golovkin that he was “probably about 175” pounds when their 12-round battle began at Madison Square Garden.
