Re: rose v arnfiled
I had arnfield 115-113 so close fight and could of gone either way. What an absolute bore fest though.
Re: rose v arnfiled
I thought rose was unlucky not to get the decision again..I had rose winning by two rounds.
Re: rose v arnfiled
I didn't score it properly, but on the general gist of the fight I think Arnfield did enough to win.
In a slightly different question, if you were Hearn, what do you do with Rose now?

By sound of his IFL video..... not muchsammy95 wrote:I didn't score it properly, but on the general gist of the fight I think Arnfield did enough to win.

Re: rose v arnfiled
I had it to Arnfield 116-112, although he wasn't as busy as Rose at times, he landed the better shots particularly when he used his jab to good effect. Decent run of form for Jack and he's got some decent names on his record.Bleak wrote:By sound of his IFL video..... not muchsammy95 wrote:I didn't score it properly, but on the general gist of the fight I think Arnfield did enough to win.

Re: rose v arnfiled
I felt Arnfield had done enough to take it.
But then I must admit Rose is one of those fighters I've always struggled to take to. No good reason for that, just can't
Think the only time i've backed him was on his big away days
Anyway, I prefered Arnfield in this one

Found it hard to keep paying attention but neither guy impressed from what I saw. I said the other day that I expected it to be a boring fight and unfortunately I was right for a change.
Re: rose v arnfiled
I think we all want to see a rematch.
Ward v Hughes IV as chief support.

I didn't see the fight but it sounds as though there was mo action at the weigh-in!
Not sure where Rose goes from here.

Re: rose v arnfiled
I got bored halfway through, pretty mediocre fayre from these two I'm afraid neither have any x factor. Rose has done well in his career as I've always thought he was pretty average so to get a British title and Lonsdale Belt plus a world title shot has to go down as a pretty successful career with his ability levels.

I thought Arnfield nicked it. Rose looks about done. I think he would have dealt with Arnfield as little as 12 months ago.

Re: rose v arnfiled
Both should have been DQ to save the public from the boredom
Re: rose v arnfiled
It was an absolute bore fest both fighters should have there wages suspended and a 2 year ban for jack and Brian should be forced to retire for being the most irritating fcuking boxer I've ever seen
Re: rose v arnfiled
Honestly completely zoned out. Dull as dishwater. Someone asked me about it on Sunday and I couldn't recall a single detail, let alone who "should" have won.

Arnfield done the better work and landed cleaner.
Other than that I'd rather watch my great nan have a bath than watch that fight again.

For a "battle of Blackpool" I think two alcoholic landladies arguing over bingo cards would have been more exciting. I was at the event and there was virtually zero applause between rounds.
Correct result for me as bigger man used his jab to advantage all night.

I didn't mind this fight. When it's close or keeps me interested.
The one-sided ones send me to sleep.
I scored it 114-114. Not surprised Froch card was a drawer he scores most rounds 10-10.
Bellew seems to be the only one on broadcasting team who's not on a agenda. Thought he was the best one Saturday with Andy Clarke as per usual.

Re: rose v arnfiled
I expected so much more from this fight , result apart I was left disappointed ringside.
I expected the "fireworks" that Rose had promised but he's obviously all talk and the shenanigans at the weigh from him and Rimmer all show.
As the challenger and pre fight talk I expected him to engage a lot more and go for a convincing win , looking to impress . That never materialised and the fight was a somewhat predictable even matchup that never really got going.
It was always going to be a close affair with both extremely similar in styles ( same amateur and professional trainer etc ). Added to that they know each other so well spending years together in and out of the ring.
I had edged towards Arnfield believing the added skill set since joining the Jennings brothers plus the youth and size advantage would just tip it in his favour and that proved to be the case.Twelve months ago I would have fancied a Rose win but the fight was taken at the right time , good management.
Jacks good run continues with another decent name added to his W column .
Well done Jack and his team .

Re: rose v arnfiled
Yeah Bellew called this what it was 2 guys who had sparred each other too much, awful fight.
Re: rose v arnfiled
Fight was jank
Re: rose v arnfiled
It wasn't the best fight Saturday. We was telling jack to get close up and work from round 3 onwards.telling him to close the range quicker and that he may have to take the odd shot to get 3/4 shots off.He was slow at achieving this and only got into it after a few rounds.
I thought the lads gave each other too much respect at times, hence the edgy affair.
Have it said that, jack picked up the W and he moves on.

Re: rose v arnfiled
I enjoyed the fight actually.
I had it close but clear to Arnfield.
I don't know if Brian Rose will box on or retire and focus his energy into his new gym but he's had a good career.
