Absolutely brilliant match up. A real trade fight :box:

A lean Smith's way at this stage. Despite the loss to Canelo, Smith gave it a good go and Alverez is a brilliant boxer right at the top of his game, so I can't see Williams holding any fears for Smith.

Great fight.

Williams was disappointing against limited Corcoran. If he comes in fighting like that he'll be taken out by Smith.

I thought he looked quite bad in that fight I think smith will win quite handily, Williams is overrated I feel, he looked average in the corcorand fight can remember people started to rave about him after he beat Ronnie heffron but heffron didn't look right at all plus he had come up from ww and it was like man v boy physically

Yeah the Corcoran fight was worrying because he looked to be stuggling with corcorans strength. he wasn't able to keep the fight at length and outbox Corcoran. Suggesting he won't be able to keep the fight at length and outbox Smith. So we have to decide who wins if this is fought as a close up war. I don't think Williams has got the footwork to do it from the outside all night. When Smith gets inside Williams might be able to cope though. If he starts shipping those big body shots, there will only be one winner and that's Liam Smith.

I wouldn't read too much into the Corcoran fight, Williams just went in for a tear up.

Agree with this. Both are quite even but Liam Smiths bodyshots are world class and will be the difference.

Got two tickets for sale for this if anyone interested. Just DM me.

£90 for both. Sat together, Row D, Lower Tier.

They should be £57 each online, however I used a special offer, so £90 is what I paid with fees and postage.

Will send tracked, signed for postage at no extra cost. Or if you're near Manchester and want to collect that's fine too.

Can't decide who I think will win this fight, think it could be a really close one. Williams is huge at the weight and has obviously been on a good run of wins but one thing I have noticed is in his recent last 2 wins theve been against fighters seemingly a lot smaller than himself, corcoran weighed in and boxed at 10.5 a few weeks ago and govacs or what ever his name was has boxed twice since Williams beat him once at welterweight where he got stopped in 5 rounds and also at under 10 stone :o so he's obviously had massive weight advantage on the night, but smith will be a lot nearer to Williams weight come fight time so I'm wandering if that will make a difference. But Hard fight to call imo

I thought that Corcoran looked the bigger man on the night though.
Really excited for this fight, would love Williams to do it,Smith`s had such an easy passage to `world` class that it`s ridiculous really.

Apparently I've won tickets for this via a B0xnati0n competition. Anyone know any decent cheap hotels in the area? Did a quick Google search and can't find anything for under £100?

Nice, will check it out. How far will you have to travel? It'll be a good 3 hours for me at least, hoping I can get a babysitter or I won't be able to attend.

I'm coming down from Edinburgh so will be about 4 hours. Used to it though. Drive to Liverpool a lot to see my family.

I've heard on pretty good authority that Williams was around 12st5lbs on the night of the Corcoran fight, Gary was 11.6!! Read into that what you will. Williams is huge at light middle, I say that from seeing him up close on the night, Gary is strong as an of but was just too small on the night. We (Gary) has just moved down to Welterweight as that is where he should have been all along.

My own thoughts on Smith V Williams are that it is a very close one, I'm leaning towards Williams though, having been with Corcoran for a year now & seen just how good he is in the gym I realise that Williams is a very good fighter, had the better fights on the way up, hits respectably hard, doesn't waste a lot & as I said is Massive at the weight. For me the only chance Smith has is with his body shotting, which Williams did not like at all from Corcoran.

Me three.

Not sure I can make it though to be honest. A combination of other plans and finances. Will have a look today see whether it is possible.
