It was a freak punch, if he never landed that he is losing the fight, he can obviously punch toPredatorHayds wrote:He knocked the IBF world champion out in 30 seconds!!bigped wrote:I have it on good authority he can't punch at allHorse wrote:Is Indongo even that big of a puncher?
3 of his last 6 opponents have managed to go the full 12 rounds distance with him.
A extent but nothing that burns hasn't been in with or seen before , he's not a proper puncher , burns will win maybe even stop him

Bellew is very good at that... Transferring body weight on left hook
Re: Hearn's Idea of Matchmaking
Flanagan vs Crolla is the obvious match up to make. 2 brits, both mancs, same weight, both had belts. They've missed an opportunity there. The option to fight linares is a big one for crolla I get that though. Putting aside politics crolla should chase Flanagan.
The fact it won't get made is everything that's wrong with boxing. Promoters and networks should assist fighters in getting these deals made. It's the fighters that are putting it all on the line. Not be the hurdle making the fight impossible to make.

Boxing is a shadow of what it could be.

Frank tried to make the fight, twice, and it was never entertained by Matchroom.Ossyrules wrote:Flanagan vs Crolla is the obvious match up to make. 2 brits, both mancs, same weight, both had belts. Re: Hearn's Idea of Matchmaking
Boxers deserve to be paid well and I understand going for money fights but it always saddens me when important boxing matches get ignored solely for this reason. They will all say before they've turned pro they want to be world champion, not I want to be a millionaire and if I pick up a belt it's a bonusozzy1875 wrote:Frank tried to make the fight, twice, and it was never entertained by Matchroom.Ossyrules wrote:Flanagan vs Crolla is the obvious match up to make. 2 brits, both mancs, same weight, both had belts. Re: Hearn's Idea of Matchmaking
Frank tries to make a lot of fights that don't happen. Funny how all those years of negotiations with the likes of Johnson and Hopkins for Calzaghe never seemed to go anywhere but he was more than capable of securing Evans Ashira.ozzy1875 wrote:Frank tried to make the fight, twice, and it was never entertained by Matchroom.Ossyrules wrote:Flanagan vs Crolla is the obvious match up to make. 2 brits, both mancs, same weight, both had belts. It's not like Crolla has taken easier fights in fairness. The reality is Crolla has had a good run of hard fights and Flanagan has remained do the radar. Perhaps the fight was knocked back because Frank pays peanuts?
Re: Hearn's Idea of Matchmaking
The real issue with Crolla-Flanagan is which TV channel it goes out on...which will largely depend on who offers the most money as well as several other less monetary issues.
Would FW let one of his few world champions go across to Sky and potentially lose his only negotiating tool after signing a massive deal with BT?
Would Hearn let Crolla go over to BN / BT and fight for a world title which could well be the springboard fight FW so desperately needs to attract the casual supporters?
Are both boxers tied to TV channels in their contracts?
Many variables that need to be considered / hurdled, and before then I think the fight is a long way a way.

In football, England travel to Scotland for a match on June 10th. Glasgow Hydro is free that night, be about a reasonable time for Matchroom's own England v Scotland with Burns v Crolla.
Can see Eddie trying to get that together.

Police Scotland wouldn't allow it , and would affect ticket sales , Scotland vs England will be a sell outStuffs wrote:In football, England travel to Scotland for a match on June 10th. They've had Crolla on in Manchester when Man United are at home, which is a cross-over fanbase.bigped wrote:Police Scotland wouldn't allow it , and would affect ticket sales , Scotland vs England will be a sell outStuffs wrote:In football, England travel to Scotland for a match on June 10th. Can't see it being that soon, it doesn't give either fighter anywhere near enough time to prepare.Stuffs wrote:In football, England travel to Scotland for a match on June 10th. Glasgow Hydro is free that night, be about a reasonable time for Matchroom's own England v Scotland with Burns v Crolla.

I'm sure it'll be playing on Eddie's mind to try for it somehow though.

He can say he wants him but there's no market for that fight. The US market will not accept that fight. Bob Arum knows better than to give him Burns again.Stuarty30 wrote:Crawford has said he wants the winner of Burns Indongo. Burns (if he wins) would rather have a chance at avenging his loss to Crawford. A very slim chance admittedly but that's the way Burns is. That fight isn't an option. Broner is only bigger in name. There money will be a little more with Broner. Its all about what Burns wants. Does he want to lose his titles just to say he fought the big names then go for it. Take that loss but UK fans will remember him for the domestic dust ups. Nobody will remember he lost to Crawford or Figueroa but his other great night winning and defending his title. There no fun in remembering Ricky Hatton near loss to Luis Collazo or getting stopped by FLoyd or Manny but they all will remember his crowning moment vs Tsyzu.Stuarty30 wrote:
If you think Crolla coming off two defeats and having never fought at 140 is a bigger fight for Burns than pound for pounder Crawford or multi-weight world champion Broner then you need your head looked at
It's got feck all to do with what people remember it's about your options at the time. If Burns loses next Crolla makes sense. If he wins he has more options available to him.

If its not Sky it doesn't make sense. This is a non-starter. Good point about the other reason people seem to think this is easy to make. It's not.sammy95 wrote:The real issue with Crolla-Flanagan is which TV channel it goes out on...which will largely depend on who offers the most money as well as several other less monetary issues.

Crawford fought John Molina last time so he's obviously struggling for opponents. As i said, if there's not a market for it in the US then Crawford can come here. He's a bigger draw than Crolla as is Broner.

Re: Hearn's Idea of Matchmaking
He already been to Scotland for Burns. I don't think Hearn or fans of Burns what to see Burns take another dominating loss. It makes no sense and I'm quite confident even if Burns beats Indongo that Crawford 2 won't happen.Stuarty30 wrote:Bob Arum can't wipe his own arse. My thoughts exactly, plus the game is a 17:00 kick off, so would actually clash with the start of the card.bigped wrote:Police Scotland wouldn't allow it , and would affect ticket sales , Scotland vs England will be a sell outStuffs wrote:In football, England travel to Scotland for a match on June 10th.
