Oh yes, definately past his prime - but still would be an oustanding scalp. Looks like his chin is still decent (judging by the Nagy contest) and his two recent defeats have been against probably world class fighters.
I didn't realise it was THE Frankie Leroy who he beat for the WBU belt 2 years back. I remember Leroy getting blown away by Patrick Mullings aways ago at Super Bantam - Leroy did okay after that fight, which shows how talented Mullings was.
He, Tontchev, still appears to be a European title level contender if no longer the very best in Europe - none (with the exception of Earl) have beaten that quality of fighter.
I'm very pleased with this match, glad Maloney is shown faith in Dean. My personal view is that I would have liked one or two more warm ups before this one - against someone like a Maynard.
