What happens when he wins it and Chisora or Whyte come after him?

He needs to rebuild from the bottom and never have a major step up in competition again.

He's not ready for the British title. He needs to stop thinking that he's a big shot.

Drop way down in competition, stay active and build himself back up slowly.
Just win it then retire, I don't think he's going to improve, atleast then he'll have a really nice belt to keep and show his kids etc., and a nice note to end his career.

He's still got to beat a mandatory challenger.

Is he good enough to beat a mandatory?

I think if I were Nathan Gorman or one of the other up and coming young bucks, the last person I'd want to fight would be David Price. Not much kudos in beating the guy with suspect stamina and a dodgy chin, against the fact that he's capable of knocking you out from range. There are domestic opponents that make a lot more sense even if they are not so well known.

See your point but the potential publicity someone like Gorman or Akinlade would get from that win would be huge for them

Still a very risky route, especially for Gorman. Having just lost to a debutant I daresay Akinlade has more to gain and less to lose, and time is not on his side. I don't even consider him when listing prospects not even domestic (Uk) ones.

Price’s problems are mostly psychological, since the pressure of competing in fights seems too much for him, causing him to run out of gas prematurely. When he can address that issue, he may end up being a half-decent European level fighter
Price main problem is that he can't take a shot. That's always been the case. He was down quite often in the amateurs even though they wore headgear back then.
The stoppages mostly result from being gassed.

No they're not! Thompson and Teper were both in 2nd round. He's always been chinny. Fury had him down when he was a young kid in the amateurs with head guards , as have many others. Before Thompson rematch a heavyweight called Andy Lee from North Wales was brought in for sparring then asked to leave because he put him down a couple of times - hence so many people made good money off the bookies on the fight around our area .

Price can carry on at domestic level but that's as far as he can go. Shame , nice guy
