Petrov isnt a massive test, but he's a respectable opponent. I think he's arguably on the same level as the best Crolla's beaten, and Id pick him over the likes of the massively overrated Barroso.

Shows what the sport is all about that tickets are being given away in droves for a cracking match like this and the richest fight in history will be between a guy in his forties and a rank novice with a big gob.

I think it shows where FW currently stands as a promoter. He criticises Matchroom for their relationship with StubHub and the fact tickets are being resold on the site but if you gave him the choice I bet he'd love to be in that position.

I can't get over the fact they're giving away so many free VIP tickets - you'd be raging if you'd paid decent money and then found out about it.

I think there's definitely an element of truth in the first part. The second part however was just a competition. 5 x pairs Gold VIP, 5 x Silver VIP (or whatever they're calling it) and 5 x Pairs of Tickets, so 15 tickets given away in a competition.

There's various competitions for AJ v Klitchko tickets too. It happens.

Did anyone actually win the VIP tickets? I just won standard tickets.

Only a block or two have been opened upstairs, but that's not much different to Crolla. The left hand side there is/was on sale too, I had/have tickets there.

As much as I'm gonna side with Pro-Manchester and Manchester fighters, a major problem is no mid-size venue between arena and small hall, so this sort of thing will always happen.
Yeh it's true, there isn't really anywhere with an 8-10k capacity for mid-size events. Hence why they end up doing a half arena for some boxing shows, not ideal.
The Echo Arena is perfect

That seat map will be only tickets sold via manchester arena, theres no way all the other sections are fully sold out and no single seats left etc, they will be the sections that are taken for fighter tickets to sell.

Manchester Arena use Eventim's platform, so they're one and the same. Aside from the boxers themselves, there's no other way to buy them (through first-hand means).

There still looks to be a lot of floor seats left. I hate those seats, too far back and on the flat, who'd want that as a view? I'd rather be lower tier square on to the ring.

Why does the fight have to be in Manchester? Warren has used a 20k+ venue now for a few fights which have sold very poorly.

Historically there were plenty of fighters who haven't needed to remain in their hometown. Hatton fought in Newcastle under Warren, Calzaghe in Manchester, Khan in London. If it's a 10k fight have it in Liverpool or Leeds if nothing in Manchester works.

Im choking for this fight this week, its gonna be quality for however long it lasts, I'm really struggling to pick a winner, at the minute I'm edging towards Williams, ive rated him highly for a while now, he is an all rounder for me, boxes well but also can fight when needed so I don't think he'll mind getting into a tear up with Smith who I see being on the front foot for the majority, Smith's obviously been in with Alvarez but that aside there's not much gulf on the CVs, I think the Corcoran fight was a good fight to have for Williams before fighting Smith and if he can use the experience of that fight and keep Smith under control without getting involved as much as he did against Corcoran then he has a great chance of winning

I would never write Smith off entirely though, he's a bull and I don't see the Canelo loss having too much of an effect on him because taking this fight shows he's wanting to get straight back towards a title, Williams is tough and can take a shot but if Smith catches him downstairs then he can get him out of there at any time

Williams close decision

THe fact that Rhodes-Moore was for the European title, and these two jokers get to fight for a vacant world belt, having Jimmy Kelly, Corcoran and uh Erik Ochieng? as their best wins? Sorely grieves me.

Some of them will for sure, however some of them were also for sale. I bought them from there.

They've taken a lot of sections off sale. Likely will be moving people similar to the Saunders V Lee fight - and probably having about a third of the arena open.

They can still make it look good with 6000 in there - really need a good product for BT Sport viewers.

Looking forward to it.

At Khan-Kotelnik they took your £50 upper tier ticket off you and gave you a £150 lower tier one. At Brook-Jo Jo Dan I sat ringside all night when I had a £60 ticket. It's very common.

Hoping I get good seats Saturday. Never been the MEN before.
What's the best seats in the floor/lower tier sections?

Closer the fight gets I'm fancying a Smith Ko (bodyshots).

Block 103-104 or 113-114 but I suppose it depends on how it's set up.

I've sat in all bits of it for various events, not had a bad view yet.
