Povetkin vs Ortiz - who wins this match ?

Post by apollo creed »

I'd love to see this match. Both are old-dangerous-avoided HW's. They should be matched together ASAP. :box:

Potvetkin doesn't deserve any pays days,
Publicity or even talked about on here. He's a disgrace.

Ortiz has looked woeful in his last two fights. Rumours that he is a lot older than recorded. Povetkin beats him IMO.

He defected, I doubt Cuba goes out of it's way to provide all the paper work on people who defect.

Not even slightly relevant.

No mention of who would win this fight five years ago. Neither were "old-dangerous-avoided HW's" five years ago.

So Povetkin either being on steroids or not being on steroids has no relevance in his chances with facing off against Ortiz? I'd imagine his chances would increase in the case of the former. Hence it's relevant.

This match depends on Riabinski only, nobody else will pay to watch those two...

The Povetkin that fought Marco Huck existed in 2012. It's 2017, time to update your wall calendar.

I think it was Tony Bellew who, while fighting in the amateurs met Ortiz. He was a fully grown man whilst Tony was very young and green. There have been plenty of accounts to state that Ortiz is a lot older than his papers suggest and with Cuba being somewhat closed, records of defectors can always be doctored.

This is also true with African fighters and footballers. e.g. Sam Peter, Samuel Eto and Yakubu.

Maybe. It is quite a unique concept to become a significantly harder puncher in your mid to late 30's however.

Bellew talks nonsense. Bellew himself didn't start boxing until he was about 15 and thus he was probably 17 or something and Ortiz was about 21 at the time.

I think it's a intriguing match because both are contraversy fighters. Since no-notable names don't want to fight them, they should square up each other. :OhYes:

People that are crying about 'peds' not-stop are so foocking annoying fanboys.

PEDS or no PEDS I would dearly love to see a fight between these two. I guess it depends on whether the Allen and Scott fights are evidence that Ortiz is on the slide, or maybe Ortiz was consciously trying to look less formidable in order to coax one of the title holders to face him. Ortiz of a couple of fights ago looked mightily impressive, and how awesome did Povtkin look in destroying the tough and durable Duhaupas, even allowing for the fact Duhaupas had just stepped off the plane, and that AP has been allegedly enjoying the benefit of a pharmaceutical pick-me-up ?

So I'm firmly on the fence with this one. Sorry if that seems like a cop-out but it's because I can't see it as anything other than a genuine 50/50 that makes this so deliciously mouth-watering to me. I know I should despise a drug-cheat and on one level I do, but another part of me drools over the new improved Povetkin with the (alleged) added formula, and burns with a desire to see him fight Wilder, Joshua, Ortiz or Parker.

Sorry I'm a flawed boxing junkie, what can I say?

Drug-user Povetkin Vs old-man Ortiz. Who wouldn't want to sit ringside for that? I'm sure Vladimir Putin and his corrupt cronies will be there surrounded by private bodyguards. Sorry, I can't get worked up about a PED user like Povetkin and a one-dimensional fighter like Ortiz. Why not have a battle royal with the ten "best" heavyweights from Boxrec in the ring at once? Now that would be worth five bucks and a subscription to Canadian Tire magazine.
