Ortiz for me too. Wilder struggles against defensive mobile opponents. Poor little old Artur was doing ok until Wilder knocked him out like he was supposed to. Discount Ortiz's last two fights and watch the two before that. If he can dodge the wild Wilder swing and hope shots, I think Ortiz could win

Tough to call, Ortiz has never fought a puncher. I'll go wilder with no confidence.

Ortiz pulls a Solis and blows up a joint and his chance. Wilder wins in unsatisfying fashion.

Waste of time fantasy match. We talk about fantasy matches more that real ones on the forum. When/if it is booked, I will pick the winner.

Even though Ortiz looked like dogshit in his last few fights, Wilder has fought nobody. I can only judge him on his fight with Stieverne. Ortiz for me until Wilder beats a legimate top 10.

Oh for one beautiful intoxicated moment there I thought this was real ... ok subject to contract n' all with all the myriad reasons for Wilder to pull out once his team can find an excuse that sounds at least semi-plausible ... but real. What a fool I am. As if !

So back to my imagination then, hello old friend: I voted Ortiz but I'd do so with a great deal more confidence if he were 28 years old instead of whatever he is ... 38 allegedly... hmmm. He didn't look too impressive against Allen nor Scott, but if he can recapture the Ortiz that handled the very capable Bryant Jennings so effectively, I can't see Wilder knowing how to cope with him. If I know anything about Senor Ortiz, it's that he won't be even a little bit intimidated by Wilder.

I'd give it (Ortiz) another three years if I were you Deontay - you wouldn't want to face a live one would you?

My take on this

Wilder - I don't really rate as a boxer. But a guy who punches as big as he does is always in a fight. He'll keep swinging them looping punches and they're obviously jack hammers. 99% of his opponents so far haven't either had the concentration or the ability to keep the big fights off their chins so far. So you have to hand it to him, in a sense.

Ortiz - I'm split on him. Looked really good in some fights, ordinary to poor in other fights. Generally speaking his fundamentals look better than wilders, physically I'd imagine he's stronger they way he's set up, though I say this without any evidence. Possibly lacking a shade of speed to break down opponents that don't come to fight.

Outcome - Ortiz for the majority would control the way the fight goes, winning more rounds through good boxing basics, tighter defence and better technique. Wilder will have periods of success where he's more active and not just looking to load up, using his range and jab as he did vs Stiverne. As the fight goes late I'd favour Ortiz, who'd be on top to start imposing his physical strength on Wilder and possibly stop him.

But you can never be certain of an outcome to his credit due to the bombs
