Marco Huck vs Mairis Briedis

Huck has always had terrible technique, and Breidis exploited that. I think that was the story there, I don't think Huck is shot, it's just if you keep on your toes and occupy him with the jab, to stop him closing the distance, he has no plan B.

I think the fact Breidis was a big puncher probably also was a factor, Huck knew he coudln't just rush him.

I havent seen the fight yet but I imagine he no longer had the same level of faith in his chin like he did pre Glowacki aswell.

Its well known that Huck has always been a dirty fighter and it was mentioned in commentary that Briedis sparred him when he 1st turned pro and remembered Marco as a dirty fighter so it was clear from the start that tying him up on the inside whenever they got close was a ploy from Briedis and it worked a treat although it made for poor viewing, boxing wise Briedis never really had to go through the gears but he had to work very hard and stay switched on at all times to look out for Huck's dangerous lunges

Yeah Huck is lazy, spends a lot of time on the back foot and his big attacks when they come are only in spurts and use a lot if energy.

Someone good, assertive and consistent can control him and it sounds like what happened.

Very surprising fight... by how unexciting it was. The right result though. I hope Briedis gets some good fights as champion!

Bellew won't go near him

a shame. Obviously Bellew can make more elsewhere. But it'd be good to see him in a stern test like this.

This was the opposite to Chisora v Whyte for me.

I expected that to be an absolute sh!t fest and it was a really good fight. I expected Bredis v Huck to be FOTY and it didn't set a light. I need to learn

Anyway was still a very good win for Breidis. He did show good bodywork throughout the fight and shows he isn't just a banger. It's great he has a belt because he will travel with it.

Now for his next fight the rematch between Kudryashov and Duradola is mandatory. Hope Kud does the job.

Can not wait to see the Russian Hammer v Breidis someone is 100% going to in that one.
