Andre Ward vs. Sergey Kovalev II on June 17

Andre Ward v Sergey Kovalev II set for June 17 in Las Vegas

Most people scored the first fight for Sergey Kovalev, but somehow the judges had Andre Ward winning. The referee also seemed to be on Ward's side. Will the American officials in Las Vegas be fair this time?

Should be a cleaner win for Ward imo
Ward will be able to adjust better from the first fight, while Kovalev will probably come with the same gameplan.
If Ward can frustrate Kovalev for 5 rounds, Sergey will get desperate and Ward might even get a chance for a tko

   So you are a comedian?

The punch that knocked Ward down wasn't even landed at full extension because if it had Ward would have been KO'd. Kovalev caught Ward almost with the palm of his hand.

I feel Ward has figured Kovalev out for the most part. It may take him a couple rounds to get readjusted, but I believe he is the more well rounded, adaptable fighter of the two. Should be a clear UD for Ward this time around...

I'd much rather Kov win. But, I just don't see it. Bar a Kov KO in the early going, I believe Ward is going to rip him on the inside and frustrate him to death. Hope I'm wrong.

On the flip side, if the fight is anywhere near close, the judges will probably over correct the decision on the first fight and award Kov the win.

Kovalev has to go into the fight trying to kill Ward. Don't let up and don't show any mercy. Hit and hurt him early and often. I hope he doesn't try to outbox Ward, which he did in the first fight, turn it into a war.

This time, Kovalev will be certain that he can't trust the judges, so he will stop Ward.

I always hated that excuse. He should've stopped him the first time, Mr. knockout king Kovalev who relied on the judges. Not buying it. Ward beats him in rematch as he figured Kovalev out by the end and not vice versa.

I don't feel this is the proper fight plan for Kovalev. He needs a very well thought out and executed game plan specifically designed for Ward. If he and his team cannot come up with that plan, then they are in for a long and frustrating night. Any fighter who is set to just come forward and destroy Ward is playing right into his wheelhouse, IMO.

No, they will again help the home country fighter as is usually the case in boxing. Kovalev cannot expect fair officiating in Las Vegas, he needs a KO to win.

Only way Kovalev wins this is by stoppage. I am sure he understands that and will operate accordingly. This is a good fight for boxing, My hat off to both fighters for making it happen. They will get my PPV money again.

It is not an excuse. He defeated Hopkins on points, and the Ward fight started exact same way: an advantage and KD early, so Kovalev was naturally gliding to what he and most of the others thought was a guaranteed victory.

Kovalev-Ward II will be at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, per source. Split will be 60/40 in favor of Ward, which was previously negotiated.
At least it is not Oakland.

I'm for Kovalev, thought he won the first one. Either way I'm glad they're doing it again, it's a good fight.

Can't wait to see droves of people talking smack like Ward or Kovalevs achievements are their own.

Scored the first fight a draw. Don't really know yet who to pick in the rematch.

He went for the stoppage against Hopkins. He faded when Ward figured him out and Ward will do better in the rematch. If Kovalev failed to finish Ward in the first fight when he was hurt.then I doubt he's more effective in the rematch.
