Just rewatched Kovalev - Ward. Scored it 114-115 Ward
My scorecard:
10-9
10-8
9-10
10-10
9-10
10-9
9-10
9-10
9-10
10-9
9-10
10-10
112-113
I really couldn't give 4th or 12th to either. If I was forced I would lean 4th to Kovalev and 12th to Ward, which would make it 113-114 Ward.
To be honest I only convinced myself more that Ward figured out Kovalev by the end of the fight with that left hook, by rewatching it.
Bring it on haters.

Surely you mean you scored the fight 115-114 to Ward, since you should score even rounds without points deductions as 10-10 not 9-9?

Klit, with all due respect, I think there've been enough threads about it and it's pretty much clear who thinks what and why..

never mind all that, don't people realise its the 30th anniversary of leonard v hagler ? if we rewatching/rescoring anything it should be the superfight

One of my favourite fights of all-time. The back-story made the action that took place inside the ring all that more intriguing.littlepug wrote:never mind all that, don't people realise its the 30th anniversary of leonard v hagler ? if we rewatching/rescoring anything it should be the superfight

That's a reasonable scorecard. On watching the fight the first time I had it 114-113 to Ward (same as all three judges) while I had Kovalev winning 115-114 on a second viewing. I scored the 4th to Kovalev on both viewings and agree that the 12th could be even.

And why exactly do we need to know that you can't score fights? Kovalev won, and it wasn't even that close.klitoris wrote:Yes fixed itEnlightened-One wrote:Surely you mean you scored the fight 115-114 to Ward, since you should score even rounds without points deductions as 10-10 not 9-9?

Typical for the big fights to be during the week when I was growing up.littlepug wrote:And strangely enough it was on a Monday nightEnlightened-One wrote:One of my favourite fights of all-time. When I watched it the first time I was watching it for entertainment. Even then I thought it was a close fight I wasn't that impressed with both fighters.greg wrote:Klit, with all due respect, I think there've been enough threads about it and it's pretty much clear who thinks what and why..
But now after sometime has passed, I think it makes sense to rewatch it with a clear head. To be honest I really don't understand where people see any domination from Kovalev. Apart from the KD and the first few rounds, he was largely inneffective. Like I can understand edging the fight by one point to Kovalev, but most people say Kovalev won clearly and that's rubbish imo. And this was NOT A ROBBERY.

I don't need to convince myself. 80% of people agree with me. It is mainly #DUMMYGRAPHIC and a few other perverted types who think that Ward won.Tanzio wrote:Keep trying to convince yourself of that, box of rocks.boxing_rocks wrote:And why exactly do we need to know that you can't score fights? SOGgy actually won the fight. That is a fact.boxing_rocks wrote:I don't need to convince myself. 80% of people agree with me. It is mainly #DUMMYGRAPHIC and a few other perverted types who think that Ward won.Tanzio wrote:Keep trying to convince yourself of that, box of rocks.boxing_rocks wrote:

Maybe Krusher can do more than hold and miss for the last seven or eight rounds this time, or manage to finish if he gets to SOGgy this time, but the 1 in the loss column will remain regardless of your incessant whining.

The fact is that corrupt Vegas judges gifted the W to Ward. Ward won the sh!t. ... and yes, I hope Kova doesn't rely on judges this time, as he is in even worse position not being a champion.Tanzio wrote:SOGgy actually won the fight.
