Annoyed Welsh fan

Post by PredatorHayds »

Alright lads. Firstly I'm very drunk. Secondly I haven't found a good brothel. Thirdly the crowd trouble at the MEN means my £500 suit smells of strongbow.
But surely williams-smith was a head clash and should of gone to judges. Surely Williams was winning.

Judges had him 1 point up at the stoppage. Yes it was a head clash that opened the eye up but as the referee didn't call it the fight ended as it did. Had he called the head butt it would have gone to the scorecards and Williams would have been declared the winner.

Doesn't matter what the ref called it if the corner retired him he loses

Looked like a deliberate headbutt from a man who was getting outboxed and out worked from the opener never mind an accidental head clash...

Terry o'connor sh*t refereeing as well and judges looked like they were going to do their best to rob Williams anyway

Joe g was a joke as usual and smith had the best of F all tonight

Not true; GL took the advice of the lady doctor. Had TOC called the head clash and LW couldn't come out on the advice of the doctor it would have gone to the judges score cards.

Actually had TOC called the clash of heads as it happened he should of taken a look at the cut; saw how bad it was and called the doctor there and then. It would have been stopped and hay ho different result.

It should not have gone to the judges. If it did Williams 100% no arguments win the first 6 rounds.

Smith should have been disqualified.

I was there block opposite the Williams fans so I could see everything going on.

The smith brothers faults for egging the crowd on.

Horrible low life human beings. Especially Paul Smith absolute classless waste of space. Everything wrong with boxing he is.

There could be ten people attending The MEN and there'd still be a gang brawl.

Smith essentially headbutted his way to victory...that's about as dubious and deserving of outcry as it gets.

He should've thrown in a kick and chokeslam for good measure. Maybe high-fives for TOC and the judges too.

Williams may have a loss on his record but his stock has surely risen, especially after a fantastic opening six rounds. Piston-like jab and better movement than Smith. Beefy proved his toughness as he came more into the fight after that but I cannot see how Williams was only a round up by the end.
I was at the fight so couldn't see how the eye looked but I think any criticism of Lockett for pulling out his fighter after the Welsh boys' involvement in the Blackwell and Towell fights is disgraceful.

The corner still retired him so he loses. The ref never called the doctor or took advice from the doctor Gary locket called the ref over and retired his man.

Jesús, piss poor as usual from O’Connor, that was a DQ effort right there, then the whole Smith clan gloating in the ring afterwards & getting selfies with Tesco Joe was a sickener.

dont think the head clash was deliberate, they just seemed to clash on the refs blind side and then smith followed up with a connecting punch which the ref may have seen, on a more positive note the way Williams conducted himself after the fight tells you everything you need to know about him, no moaning or whinging a proper fighter

On the advice of the woman doctor. Beefy clearly used the head (accidental or deliberate doesn't matter) the referee should have stopped proceeding looked at the eye; called a doctor over and taken advice. Simple really.

You are wrong on both opening statements, the referee was in the perfect spot to see the clash f heads.

things can often seem very different in real time and unless we can see exactly through the refs eyes we cant ever be sure, yes he is facing the right way but that doesnt mean he saw what we did

What the ref should or shouldn't have done in the round is not what I'm saying. Irrelevant of whether the cut was caused by intentional or accidental or punch if the corner want to pull there man out then he loses by the ref accepting his retirement. The corner may have spoken to the doctor but the doctor can't stop a fight only the ref can and the ref never asked the doctor for her opinion locket retired him. Now wether the ref called the incident correctly is another thing i agree it was dangerous use of the head. Even simpler
