Lomachenko & Max Announce Engagement
Lomachenko & Max Announce Engagement
It looks like it's going to be a Summer Wedding so don't forget to save the date. Max Kellerman should be embarrassed for his constant and utterly endless man gushing over Lomanchenko. To his credit, Max was one of the first in mainstream to promote Loma's skills when much of the world didn't know exactly what his tools looked like. I'll give him credit for that but the world now knows how great this kid is so do we need to hear it over and over and over again? We get it.
The worst part about the whole sad telecast last night was when Max made excuses for why Salido defeated Lomanchenko. Max blamed the weight difference, the experience difference, "over a 100" fouls by Salido and oh, the sun was in Loma's eyes too right? Give me a break. Listen, i'm on board. Loma is awesome and just seems to be getting better. I'm excited to see where this kid goes with his ability but this on screen verbal masturbation is becoming unwatchable.
Let's let a fighter earn his accolades INSIDE the ring. What's the rush? Can't we just enjoy this kid? It's like a chef asking "isn't it GREAT?" after each and every bite. It won't be long before people stop eating there. Greatness is achieved, not assigned.

It was close, but I had the big 12th round winning it for him. Hoping for a rematch next to see what happens, which I'm thinking is a late Loma stoppage.Tanzio wrote:And I didn't (honestly).armageto wrote:I thought Loma beat Salido honestly......

Seriously, why would anyone get his knickers in a twist..Loma become a two-weight titleholder in his seventh fight..respect..anyone's resume over the last 20-30 years comparable with his?
Re: Lomachenko & Max Announce Engagement
It was a close fight, but he lost, and he should not waste his limited prime proving what we all know; Lomassiah is superior to Salido. He should be fighting the considerable list of young, tough lions in the division and then he should move up.armageto wrote:It was close, but I had the big 12th round winning it for him. There is a 22 year old who will be chasing him up the weight classes, if he passes the test in the UK on May 20.
Re: Lomachenko & Max Announce Engagement
I like Davis and that's a great fight to make in a couple of years. Loma is having a tough time getting the fights he wants at 130, I see him moving up to 135 soon. If that is the case, and before doing so, I wouldn't mind he if he took revenge on Salido. He's only 29 and doesn't get hit a lot, so he has a lot of years left at his peak.Tanzio wrote:It was a close fight, but he lost, and he should not waste his limited prime proving what we all know; Lomassiah is superior to Salido. As for the first fight, I still feel he won, just IMO. If somebody had Salido just edging it 115-113 or 114-113, no problem with that at all.
Re: Lomachenko & Max Announce Engagement
For a guy that has beaten everyone he ever shared a ring with (other than Salido) it makes sense that for his own personal pride he'd want a Salido rematch, and I wouldn't mind seeing it. Salido is always fun, and Salido has that kinda Raw brawling style that would trouble Lomachenko more than most other Pros could.Tanzio wrote:It was a close fight, but he lost, and he should not waste his limited prime proving what we all know; Lomassiah is superior to Salido. I just think that Salido is too long in the tooth to bother with.gilgamesh wrote:For a guy that has beaten everyone he ever shared a ring with (other than Salido) it makes sense that for his own personal pride he'd want a Salido rematch, and I wouldn't mind seeing it. If you are still not getting massive Loma erection you need to look for sexopathologist.handsofstone wrote:In all honesty my man crush on Lomachenko is up there with Kellerman's

If a Lomassiah erection lasts more than four hours after a Lomassiah mismatch, you need to make an appointment with VPOTUS Pence.Tarkus wrote:If you are still not getting massive Loma erection you need to look for sexopathologist.handsofstone wrote:In all honesty my man crush on Lomachenko is up there with Kellerman's

He's still giving everyone he fights hell from what I can see.Tanzio wrote:I just think that Salido is too long in the tooth to bother with.gilgamesh wrote:For a guy that has beaten everyone he ever shared a ring with (other than Salido) it makes sense that for his own personal pride he'd want a Salido rematch, and I wouldn't mind seeing it. Come on, gil, four fights in the last three years (since the Lomassiah fight) with a 1-1-2 record. Lomassiah need not waste his time.gilgamesh wrote:He's still giving everyone he fights hell from what I can see.Tanzio wrote:I just think that Salido is too long in the tooth to bother with.gilgamesh wrote:

Re: Lomachenko & Max Announce Engagement
There are certainly bigger fights out there for Lomachenko no question, but I'm sure this one would me more to HIM personally than a lot of the others would. I'd still like to see it.Tanzio wrote:Come on, gil, four fights in the last three years (since the Lomassiah fight) with a 1-1-2 record. I'd like to see him fight Miguel Berchelt too
130 is pretty deep right now. I'm in no rush to see him move up to Lightweight. The Lightweights have plenty to keep them busy for the time being anyway.
Linares vs Mikey Garcia is the fight that needs to be made at Lightweight right now, but in a few fights maybe 2 or 3 I'd like to see Lomachenko move up and fight someone like Flanagan just to dip his feet into the water at Lightweight and then he could take on the Garcia/Linares winner.
Re: Lomachenko & Max Announce Engagement
i don't think davis should be anywhere near loma in the next two years.would be a similar result as calzaghe and lacy imo.Tanzio wrote:It was a close fight, but he lost, and he should not waste his limited prime proving what we all know; Lomassiah is superior to Salido. No doubt, Davis is too green for Lomassiah at the moment. Likely he will never be up to it but I like his moxy going to the UK for a belt at 22. Let's see how he develops.rab wrote:i don't think davis should be anywhere near loma in the next two years.would be a similar result as calzaghe and lacy imo.Tanzio wrote:It was a close fight, but he lost, and he should not waste his limited prime proving what we all know; Lomassiah is superior to Salido. Re: Lomachenko & Max Announce Engagement
agreed. i am really looking forward to his fight with walsh. he out bangs walsh by a mile, but walsh has a big heart and is not short on the skill department . i also think he is one of those fighters that shifts up a gear when the fear factor is significant, and it will be with davis.Tanzio wrote:No doubt, Davis is too green for Lomassiah at the moment. I'm really not sure about Walsh at World level, part of me does wonder about his interesting skill set and awkward in the better sense style, the other part thinks at the highest level he'll be found out. Fascinating fight really
