Where does he find the energy to be such a miserable sod?

The smiths are a bunch of pricks they have no class and the manner that they've acted after all this is disgusting especially Paul and Liam, why couldn't they just come out and say yeah the fight shouldn't of ended praised Liam Williams and offered a immediate rematch instead they talk shit and arrogant Luke there trainer, they think they are above everybody and take to twitter the next day to carry it on, utter pricks

Not if he jumps ship to Hearn like suggested.

Liam smith got exposed last night at domestic level. I would be suprised if Gallagher would go ahead with it. Then again he thought his guy was winning

Ignore the belt situation Liam Williams is the British champion and he absolutely dominated Liam Smith tonight hence proving the latter is around or below British title level.

No question Williams took the first 6 rounds and Smith clearly following Joe Gallagher master gameplan for significant fights. I only had Smith winning one round. He should have been disqualified for a deliberate head butt and Terry OConnor is simply not fit to referee.

It does seem like Liam Smith deliberately missed weight to leave Warren but regardless this is a bad result for Warren.Smith doesn't have a fan base where as Liam Williams could headline shows in Wales with the belt.

Without the belt Smith is nothing....if he joined Matchroom what are they going to do ? Pad his record and get a toy IBF galactic title and get shipped over to fight someone like Jarret Hurd and get smashed to bits. Imagine if he fought Lara on a PBC card Judges may as well write 120-108 on their cards before the first round starts.

He can't even get the fake WBA belt as Andrade has it and Gallagher has already turned down the fight after promoters agreed terms. That would be a ridiculous mismatch.

Also the attitude of his three brothers after the fight was nothing but disgusting. Egging on the crowd of Williams fans to stir up trouble. Three professional fighters should know better it did kick off really bad in there ( directly opposite side of where I was sat). Celebrating like Liam Smith beat Canelo really they should be critical of Smiths performance considering how they thought Williams was not ready.

Anyway I don't have much expectations of Liam Smiths next move even if it is changing promoters. Even the fighters who have recently lost to the champions I have mentioned ( Tony Harrison,Vanes Martirosyan, Willie Nelson, Jack Culcay) would beat Liam Smith comfortably.
Quality rant. I agree.

The only thing I'd quibble with is "Smith is British level".
I agree with that too, BUT 'British level" is so much better than it used to be - and British fighters are so well-managed and promoted - that any decent British champ is de facto 'world class'. ie. They'll certainly be in the mix for picking up belts and being respectable challengers for the elite fighters.
The British title is being devalued though.

look at Scott Cardle. Clear as day ducking Campbell and a third Dodd fight and taking an easy fight to win the belt outright.

If boxing is the way it should be the British would be a big deal and last night would have just been a British title fight.

And when I say British level that is not an insult that is an achievement. The whole Smith brothers are disgraceful human beings but for four brothers to get to British level is an achievement and something to be proud of.

One of my favourites Jamie Moore was a proud British champion at Liam Smiths weight. Yet he never even got to fight for a world title. He must look at the opportunities the Smith brothers got with disgust. He was at Liam Smiths weight and a prime Mooresy would have obliterated Smith. He also would have loved to get a vacant world title fight against John Thompson as well

Also Joe Gallagher was in IFl that Liam Smith should be a world title fight with Cotto because he won the equivalent of a final eliminator.

He didn't make the weight by two pounds !!!!

Even Liam Smith was classless on his IFl interview... "I've not had to make weight since September. " like no fighter has ever had a six month gap between making weight.

Yep, his sensitivity levels are through the roof and he comes across as a total asshole from what Ive seen.

I remember interacting with him on here, and he was very unpleasant about virtually every little thing. He's one of the few boxers whom I legitimately dislike and will always cheer against, and Im not one of those people who by default cheers against any Joe G fighter.

To be fair mate, his mind was probably thinking about later that night.

You know, when he gets back to his 5 star hotel laid on by the promoter he needs to pick the the type of bird(s) to keep him company for the evening, again laid on by the promoter - there are a lot if things to consider.

All due respect to Cardle - who is fun good to watch - I don't class him as a "decent" British Champ.

I'm talking about fights like last night and the many others where 1 vs 2 in Britain is @ least the equal of a vacant interim WBA champion in recess "world title".

The result and performance aside, he messed up royally by missing the weight. Not made better by the fact that he claimed he could have made it if he had 2 hours rather than the 1 he was told (he actually had 2 to try and make weight again).

His big opportunity to regain his belt in a true British 50/50 fight, and he lost it before the first bell. He wont be looked kindly on by the governing bodies, and if I was the WBO I would drop him from 4th to 15th and make him work his way up again.

Cotto vs Margarito for the vacant title in New York is my guess.

During the fight the pressure was obviously on as Williams dominated and the verbals and gestures between the two groups continued in between the rounds.
Does anyone else wonder if Steven is adopted?

Seems a lovely fella.

A lot of comments about the Smith brothers being wankers, but no mention of Steven, he seems sound to me.

I think we are unfairly tarring them with the same brush... I mean I would even lump Callum and Liam in with Paul, who really is a bit of a fud
