Punch stats had Russell landing 9 or 10 percent of his shots, which is the lowest connect rate I remember seeing. I thought those numbers were about right...

GR is clearly a very talented guy who can go onto achieve big things. Loma beat him pretty comfortably.

Boxing is such a simple sport and we think we've seen everything there is to see...
And then along comes Loma. I just can't comprehend how good of a technical boxer the man is. I feel sorry for anybody who gets in with him because it must honestly be like fighting a shadow.
Seriously I am blown away by how good he is and I just want to watch him fight every single day.

I think he has the best footwork of all time.
Love him to rematch Salido, clear out super-feather then face Garcia at LW.
Great corner work by team Sosa. No need to let him take a extended beating.

Mikey Garcia is the fight I'd like to see. I've rated him from day 1.he is a "pure boxer" and you won't find anyone who does the fundamentals better. Every punch in the book, behind a solid jab controlling the distance, and huge one punch power in the right hand and also the left. We never got to see a prime flash/slick fighter vs a prime A+ pure boxer with power like Garcia. He's still underrated for me. You can't make one mistake against this guy. I would love to see Garcia vs Loma.

I only just caught up with this fight today. I'm not as impressed as everyone else seems to be. It seemed that Sosa seemed to cope with Loma's movement, land a good few and also made him miss a lot for the first 4 rounds after that he tired from having to stay so sharp and the relentless workrate.
Sosa boxed a lot better than Walters and for those first few rounds and seemed to have the right gameplan and be carrying it out not that it was scoring enough.
In a way it sorted of reminded me of Bute v Magee years ago. In that Sosa looks like he might be the best quality of opponent he could dominate and going up in weight and/or quality could even things up quite quickly. Would anyone bet heavily on him vs Garcia if they fought next?
Strictly as a technical performance i was more impressed with Linares the other day.
I can't imagine that Siri is avoiding the rematch but he sees Loma becoming a star and sees big $ in giving him the opportunity to avenge his only loss. He probably sees that as his retirement swansong and is asking to be very well compensated. We'll see if that backfires on him.

He does some very strange moves and - at the moment, or against the opponents he's facing - he can get away with it.
He's changed a lot since the Russell fight, where he put in a textbook performance.
Really it's the perfect time for Mikey Garcia because Garcia has little mileage and is a very well schooled offensive talent. And it'd answer questions for Garcia who looks amazing when the opponent comes to him but less so when he has to look for his man. These two, and Linares looking better than ever, make for must-see big fights that need making while still hot.
