Kovalev won

Post by Jip »

reviewed the fight and had it just like the last time, kovalev winning by 3. in no way you can give ward a win, even if you give him both even rounds its a draw. no wounder 80% of the media had kovalev winning

1 ward landing some piddy paddy body shots, kovalev landing a big jab wobbling ward/10:9 kovalev
2 knock down/10:8 kovalev
3 ward landed more/10:9 ward
4 kovalev outlanding ward, nice jabs at the end/10:9 kovalev
5 lots of wrestling, lots of air punches, lots of punches to the guard, even rd/10:10
6 ward landing clean body shots, more activ/10:9 ward
7 clear rd for ward/10:9 ward
8 kovalev landing more, more activ/10:9 kovalev
9 serguy landing clean shots over and over, ward back to wrestling and dirty tactics/10:9 kovalev
10 nice jabs from ward, good counter punching from kovalev, perfect jab landing 20 secondes before the end of the round, clear round for krusher/20:9 kovalev
11 ward back with clean body punches, both landing clean shots, ward good at the end, clear round/10:9 ward
12 even round/10:10

116:113 Kovalev

clear win for kovalev. expect kovalev to ko ward inside 5 next time. serguy made a huge mistake, he fought wards fight, he fought techniquly. he should overpower the smaller, less powerful ward and just ring a ding and not make it a chess match.

You can keep scoring the fight.. it's not gonna change the outcome of the fight. You can justify all you want and pick out what Kovalev did and ignore what Ward did to help you score rounds for Ward.. this was no robbery.. the rematch is on.. like Ward said, leave the excuses at home. Kovalev is going to lose another decision.. and there is no rematch clause this time..

Most people agree with you, Kovalev deserved to win. I scored it 116-111 like Harold Lederman.

Even by giving every fairly close round to Ward, Kovalev still won - the 10th was CLEARLY a Kovalev round, but all three crooked judges gave it to Ward.

thats why i am not hyped for the remtach, cause not much wont change. ward wont get any stronger or younger in a couple of month. kovalev vs gvozdyk or bertebiev would be much more competetive, opponents as strong & powerful as him. but if all the confused people want ward's face to be swollen and tomato red again, than let them have it, poor andre...

Ward's "win" over Kovalev is much worse than Mayweather's "win" over Castillo.

75% of people think that he won. Another close win by Ward wouldn't change that and fans will always say that he lost that fight like they say it about Mayweather-Castillo 1.

I expect Kovalev to clear things up by stopping the Son of Judges this time.

I hope so, but let's not forget the referee will be doing all he can to protect Ward.

Same as before, the ref will let Ward hold and foul as much as he wants to, while admonishing Kovalev when he does what he needs to do to avoid Ward's deliberate head butts. It won't be so easy to get the KO when Sergey is fighting two men in there.

We were largely in agreement with the GGG-Jacobs fight (though I had GGG winning) but there are three round I disagree with you on here:

6th - close round but I thought Kovalev won it
8th - fairly clear Ward round to me
9th - close but clear round to Ward

So I have it 115-114 Kovalev (I also had the 5th and 12th even) upon second viewing, after scoring it 114-113 to Ward on first viewing (where I gave Ward both the 5th and 12th).
