Pretty good that tbh, well worth the watch.
Thought Frank was quite funny and honest talking about Gallagher and later Eddie/Sky.

sadly I don't think we'll be seeing Williams getting his deserved rematch anytime soon. Dog violator and ashtray head to scarper over to Matchroom in the near future by the looks of it

Re: A promoter's view on Tesco Joe
Great interview with Frank I've never seen him so relaxed , wish that guy would do all their interviews because the other guy is an absolute creepy kiss arse pillock
Re: A promoter's view on Tesco Joe
Couple of things in that interview .
1--- It certainly seems Tesco is'nt a popular guy
2 --- There trying to get you beat , Well thats just a very ametuerish way of trying to get in the fighters head .. At that level it should be ALL BUISNESS , the kid phsycology should of stopped in the ameteurs .
Point being this wind up and get in a pro's head is very ameteurish from his trainer ,, Like Frank says i suspect his fighters would of done ok with any trainer , ESPECIELLY when there all inj the gym to feed of each other

Yeah enjoyed that. Credit where it's due. His description on Tesco as being a 'snidey sod' was pretty appt.Stuffs wrote:Pretty good that tbh, well worth the watch.

Re: A promoter's view on Tesco Joe
Joe is a tool I've known him since his early amateur days he was a dickhead then and still is, as for his work as a trainer he works incredibly hard and he's a grafter and he's dedicated but he seriously lets himself down with wanting all the attention and constantly talking about himself and his plan A, B and C, it looks to me as if he's on a downward spiral fast. What I will say is he's done a good job with some of fighters to get them where they are
Re: A promoter's view on Tesco Joe
He annoys me with his inability to be honest after fights. He is either stupid or just protecting his own reputation too much which has the reverse result.
He does not want to admit that his guys were outboxed/lucky to win/lost early rounds/not adjusting/one dimensional or whatever the case may be as it makes him look bad as a trainer I guess but instead we can all see what has happened and already think that there is a deficiency in what he is doing as the trainer for them to perform so badly. But that is then multiplied as you come away thinking not only was a mistake made in the tactics but he is too incompetent to see it!

Re: A promoter's view on Tesco Joe
I remember overhearing two high profile Manchester trainers discussing him. They stated he was an arrogant self centred guy (or words to that effect) Never met him myself, but when the whole world independently says the same thing, you know there is an issue
Re: A promoter's view on Tesco Joe
i like frank, always honest
spot on about them divs

Gallagher is a weird dude in a sport full of odd characters, comes across as completely disingenuous, arrogant, with a complete lack of self awareness or humility.
Obviously doing something right to get such loyalty from his fighters, but that comes at a cost cause they all talk absolute sh*te like him for the most part too

I heard to high profile ex boxers slagging him off rotten recently and it was only a few weeks ago and they both had a picture with him Saturday night, that's boxing full of weird people
Re: A promoter's view on Tesco Joe
He was right to blast Gallagher. Gallagher is an overrated trainer, his fighters fight the same way with a high guard and we have seen some stinkers and poor performances in the top fights, Quigg / Frampton & Crolla / Linares II.
Re: A promoter's view on Tesco Joe
I know Joe pretty well as we usually take our lads sparring there.Hes always been ok with us and has given us some good advice about fights and the business side of things.
He gets a bad rep,but he's usually just sticking up for his lads.
I don't think he'll care much what the promoters think of him, cause if the lads keep going there, they'll have to deal with joe

Re: A promoter's view on Tesco Joe
All Joe's fighters have done pretty well, he must have more than just luck going for him
Re: A promoter's view on Tesco Joe
Joe is a decent trainer, but seems to rub people up the wrong way more than most.
The only people in boxing who seem to like him are his fighters, but then they are the most important people, so I don't think it will bother him one bit.

He is a very smart man
Turned down Andrade fight for Smith twice because he knows he will get pasted for peanuts. Said he wouldn't let Quigg in same city as Rigondeaux and deep down I think he knows his fighters limitations
