I think it is now quite clear that he isn't coming back for the date he announced, he looks 3 or 4 stone over his fighting weight in that video.
To me, it looks like he is trying a few different things to get himself motivated again - sparring, announcing fights, getting back in the limelight, and creating 'beef' with fighters. Hopefully he can come back in the autumn after he gets his head right, gets in shape, and most importantly gets the all clear with his boxing license.

You're spot on mate, he was training hard over Christmas and was in the gym and lost some weight but recently he seems to of gone off the boil again and lost his way and he's piled weight back on

That's the second interview where he was struggling to speak, his voice is croaky.
Too many cigars?
Are the burgers clogging up his throat?

It will be a shame if he doesn't fight soon as the longer he leaves it the worse he will be IMO

I'd love to see him back but I don't fancy his chances of getting in his best condition this year.
He could probaby get just the right side of 20st and maybe have a shake off the ring rust type fight towards the end of the year but it would take a monumental effort to return in the kind of shape he'd need to be in to replicate the performance against Klitschko.

He's never coming back. Motivation has gone forever. Why would he? Fight some tomato can and be remembered for an awful display.
Unfortunately his boring attention seeking antics will be around for about two years yet!

Re: New Fury video - what would you say his weight is here?
Agreed. I don't think he can regain the motivation and drive that he did before. The only thing he would be coming back for would be money. The klitschko rematch was a massive money maker that he turned down. He turned down about 10 million quid there. If he comes back, he could probably get back into contention for a massive payday. That kind of money is enough to motivate anyone to do anything.horndawg80 wrote:He's never coming back. Motivation has gone forever. Why would he? Does the winner get a turkey? I'd guess 28 stone.
Re: New Fury video - what would you say his weight is here?
I agree - he looks well overweight, but when you also consider he is 6 foot 9 he has got to closer to 30 stone than 25.davie wrote:That's more like it.Tomasino wrote:He looks about 30 stone
Re: New Fury video - what would you say his weight is here?
I'm in agreement with that, his extreme height masks it somewhat, but he is big around the middle and his forearms are thin and veinless like no weight lifting bar what goes in the pie hole.bripez wrote:I agree - he looks well overweight, but when you also consider he is 6 foot 9 he has got to closer to 30 stone than 25.davie wrote:That's more like it.Tomasino wrote:He looks about 30 stone
It's a real shame, with such a thin HW division, to lose someone that has a unique skill set, going to waste.
Every year past mid 20's, your reflexes slow. We got to see him peak against Wlad, whatever happens after that will be from a lesser fighter

How would Tyson have picked up 10m for the Klitschko rematch?TheLeprechaun wrote:Agreed. I don't think he can regain the motivation and drive that he did before. Re: New Fury video - what would you say his weight is here?
That was the figure I heard bandied around. He was in the driver's seat, big PPV Stadium fight. HBO, SKY, GERMAN TV etc, he would have got the lions share?
Re: New Fury video - what would you say his weight is here?
he looks 24-25 stone there, he could comeback initially at 20 stone i guess, and fight effectively at world level at 18 and a half.
Re: New Fury video - what would you say his weight is here?
It wasn't a big stadium fight though? It was a 20k arena which was selling poorly. Also on BN rather than Sky.TheLeprechaun wrote:That was the figure I heard bandied around. He was in the driver's seat, big PPV Stadium fight. HBO, SKY, GERMAN TV etc, he would have got the lions share?
One of the clear mistakes in the promotion of the Fury Wlad rematch was the over-estimation of the UK general public's appetite for the rematch. I know we have plenty on here waxing lyrical about Fury's performance but wider consensus among casual fans was that it was a dismal fight. Wlad obviously comes with a hefty price tag, but the cost of hiring Wembley was never going to be covered by Fury's bang average ticket sales. Therefore to make it work it needed to fill an arena at top whack prices.
