I agree entirely, what's the point a 24/7 would have been more interesting.davie wrote:As do I, I have no problem with them being respectful in the build up.Ezzard wrote:Much prefer these two than idiots insulting one another and throwing tables etc...
But in that case why bother having a gloves are off show, other than that just the done thing.
There needs to be at least a little needle in this show to make the format work.
As someone pointed out there are plenty other things Sky could do, 24/7 type documentaries and the likes

If you look closely you can even see them playing footsy under the table, I must prefer to see guys making a tool of themselves anyday or these Face Off shows, in all seriousness though I'm glad the respects there, I always feel sorry on Wlad getting ripped apart from his opponents, you could never imagine Ali sitting smiling as Jerry Quarry runs about like batman
Joshua must have a big fvck off book of quotations though that he reads everynight to keep his humbleness in check

They'll no doubt be doing a behind the ropes type show on fight week.jamesmcdonnell wrote:I agree entirely, what's the point a 24/7 would have been more interesting.davie wrote:As do I, I have no problem with them being respectful in the build up.Ezzard wrote:Much prefer these two than idiots insulting one another and throwing tables etc...

Can imagine him reading out motivational quotes to himself infront of the mirror every night like fuckin DeNiro in Taxi Driver.

Why boring? At least it wasn't staged like most of them.
Re: Gloves are off ,AJ v Klitschko boring !
I find these shows pointless anyway even if the fighters are talking a lot of sh*t to each other. I don't mind the good sportsmanship on display with these two.
Deontay Wilder or Fury fighting either of these two will surely make for more entertaining pre-fight shenanigans.

Agreed 100% it was hilarious, also the fact that the costume looked like something you would pick up for a couple of quid at a stall in blackpoolCounter-puncher wrote:handsofstone wrote:you could never imagine Ali sitting smiling as Jerry Quarry runs about like batmanstill the greatest boxing press conference in history, I always end up laughing nearly hysterically to myself when I think of it. I will always love Fury for that moment, the totally off the wall big kid doing something because he thinks it's funny. Fucken rolling round on ethe floor with a man dressed as the Joker, turning up to his own press conference, in a world title fight, in a fucken batman constume. What a great big loveable loon, thanks for reminding me of that golden moment

Can you imagine if Camp Eddie was his promoter and Tyson told him he intended gatecrashing his own press
Conference dressed as batman? Imagine the foppish ones reaction, brilliant, he'd be horrified, I don't think he'd be able to compute the whole thing

I seen a clip of Fury the other day, I think it might have been old but his mrs had accidently tweeted his phone number out and he was getting phoned constantly, most people would cancel their number, not Tyson he was sitting yapping with everyone who phoned, I heard him saying to one guy "i'll need to go as ive somebody waiting on the line"

That's class. He's missed. I really hope he can get back in shape and back in the ring. The heavyweight division and the sport in general need him.handsofstone wrote:I seen a clip of Fury the other day, I think it might have been old but his mrs had accidently tweeted his phone number out and he was getting phoned constantly, most people would cancel their number, not Tyson he was sitting yapping with everyone who phoned, I heard him saying to one guy "i'll need to go as ive somebody waiting on the line"![]()

I watched a thing on YouTube the other day where he's ranting at Steve Cunningham. All the yanks are sitting about looking at one another obviously thinking 'wtf is this guy on about'

He seems like real sound bloke does Fury, he obviously has his issues but I do think deep down he's got a good soulCounter-puncher wrote:handsofstone wrote:I seen a clip of Fury the other day, I think it might have been old but his mrs had accidently tweeted his phone number out and he was getting phoned constantly, most people would cancel their number, not Tyson he was sitting yapping with everyone who phoned, I heard him saying to one guy "i'll need to go as ive somebody waiting on the line"![]()
Legendremember the young white collar heavyweight who ended up going training with him, something like Fury on twitter saying I'm off for runs along morecambe beach or somewhere tomorrow morning if anyone fancies it, and this young lad asks if he can come along and Tysons like no problem fella, and he ran with them and trained with them I think. The dude said Tyson was golden with him
Re: Gloves are off ,AJ v Klitschko boring !
How it must have killed serious Wlad to be beat by the jester Fury. HW boxing needs Fury back in shape now because there is a lot of god fights out there. They could easily get a HW Super 6 on. I'd love it if he came back, went around the block collecting the belts, and then retired undefeated.
Remember, this is the man that uppercutted himself in the face.

Definitely does come across well in his interactions with the public, in fact he seems at his best in that setting.Counter-puncher wrote:handsofstone wrote:I seen a clip of Fury the other day, I think it might have been old but his mrs had accidently tweeted his phone number out and he was getting phoned constantly, most people would cancel their number, not Tyson he was sitting yapping with everyone who phoned, I heard him saying to one guy "i'll need to go as ive somebody waiting on the line"![]()

I'm sorry to play devil's advocate here, but why have we so quickly forgot about all the horrible comments about women and homosexuals.
Granted the sport is a lot more blander without him, but he's one extreme or the other. It's like his moral radar is a bit off piste.

I don't think anyone has forgotten them or would be happy to excuse them, although I have heard people try (and they tend to go down the 'good old honest Tyson just saying it like it is' line, which is pretty strange), but there are definitely a few sides to the man's character. It's easy to watch a few of his interviews and think he comes across as a funny, affable guy.Rob3_142 wrote:I'm sorry to play devil's advocate here, but why have we so quickly forgot about all the horrible comments about women and homosexuals.

My own opinion is that he's been brought up in a deeply strange environment surrounded by career criminals espousing some pretty off the wall views about women, gay people and so on, and that he has found difficulty adjusting to the more normalised world he has to inhabit as a millionaire sportsman and well known figure.
