Will Judah v Mayweather be shown?

Post by Lenny »

Not too long to go before this one now and still no mention of it on Sky's schedule.

After them missing Toney v Rahman do you think there is any chance they would ignore this one?

Fight+ don't broadcast in UK yet though, do they? So UK rights must still be available - if Sky miss this one they may aswell pack their bags and go home.
Even though Zab's no show last timeout has tarnished this, it could still turn out a classic.

Fight+ own the rights for a lot of cards but not available here in the UK. So Fight+ can't have the UK rights. SKY are really taking the piss with boxing at the moment, I can't remember a time when SKY missed / overlooked so many major fights, changing saturday fights to friday fights and no more ringside on tuesdays and thursdays.

SKY should be consistent, whats the point showing the WBC Super Bamtam fight from Japan next week, these guys aren't even the best at Super Bamtam infact monshipour getting beaten in a war against the thai fighter this weekend would be more watchable.

SKY has to show Mayweather Vs Judah - undercard isn't bad eigther, they have shown most Mayweather fights and should be consistent and show this one. This is the poorest year so far from SKY, pitty cos british boxing is on the up.

Lets all e-mail SKY and request the card live ?

I found this write up on the eastside boxing site: -

There is one coming up April 8th that has peaked my interest. Zab Judah puts his IBF version of the welterweight title on the line against undefeated superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr. Despite the fact that Judah lost a portion of the title in his last fight to Carlos Baldomir, this bout will provide a stern test for Mayweather..

In my opinion Floyd is the best boxer pound for pound in the world today. I always felt Judah was over rated but he is still a formidable fighter. He is probably the fastest boxer Floyd will have met to this point in his career. Judah has a style that could pose some problems for Floyd. Nevertheless I see Floyd winning inside the distance.

On the undercard Jorge Arce meets Rosendo Alvarez in a WBC Interim Flyweight title bout. Alvarez was one of the few who could hang tough with the great Ricardo Lopez when he was in his prime. Alvarez may be getting a little long in the tooth but if he has one more good fight left in him, this could be a very entertaining bout. These are two of the best little guys around.

Also Houston's pride Juan Diaz takes on Jose Cotto for the WBA lightweight title. I could see this one being an all out war. Diaz is a strong, aggressive fighter. Cotto won't have to look for him. Very good match up that has the prospect of being a real thriller.

If we don't get this, no one should buy Hatton Vs Rabah (I bet) PPV. SKY will be taking the piss if they expect viewers to but Hattons fight if they don't show this bill.
