Kovalev mainly meant that he over-thought/over-estimated Ward, and over-training was just a reflection of that. This time, he plans to be more relaxed.

I disagree that he should put less weight into his punches replacing it with volume. That would again let judges decide his destiny, and he would need to win at least 10 rounds (or 9 plus a KD) to get a decision. Of course, he shouldn't be preoccupied with a KO and put his full power in every punch. Basically, he needs to fight like he fought everybody else except Hopkins, and Ward will go down.

"Be ready motherfucker! I'll finish your boxing career." - Kovalev. Please live up to this statement and get rid of that boxing stain once and for all. It won't take much as Son of Judges was crying about retirement after the first fight. Just do it. End this POS.

I have a new prediction. Kovalev wins by the rematch by close or split decision. Paving the way for Kovalev vs. Ward III...

That was intentional if you'd bothered to read the very first sentence in my post. I was trying to prove a point.

Well I listed over 30 scores favouring Ward, with negligible effort, which means that the stats in the article you quoted are meaningless.

I could probably find another fifteen media scores to support Ward if I wanted to.

Quoting someone else's confirmation bias or incorrect stats is not intelligent, especially if you've been lazy and made no effort to verify the accuracy of the claims you've supported.

Yo bro, these dudes say Ward was the one holding ... they are NEVER going to say the fight was even close.

This whole board is gone from people trying to prove their point,
to people trying to defend the mainstream opinion.

Convinced we are arguing with HBO/TR/GBP employees.

Everybody knew Kovalev had to score the KO to win:http://boxrec.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f ... t=kovaleva
Somehow Kovalev only knocked him down once and won most of the rounds, in America, against an American, while being born in a different country, proving you're the best alone simply isn't enough, you have to KO him so the refs can't protect him. Look at Tyson Fury vs that American guy, people in America still think the American guy should have won. Despite being KOed in 5 rounds or so.

It will be interesting to see how hard Kovalev pushes to end this fight without the judges being involved. Does it work or does it backfire and Ward shocks us all with a late KO because of it. THAT could very well happen as we've all seen it. Safe to say, a Ward KO in this one moves him into legendary status. I'm still in Kovalev's corner in this one and hope that he puts this clown on his ass for good. They took a perfect record away from Kovalev IMO and now someone needs to pay.

Isn't the idea of the media poll that it's fairly representative of how experts thought it went down...?

Maybe I could find some extra scores for Kovalev that would render your point worthless?

If you you did provide extra scores, regardless as to whom was the fighter deemed to be the deserving winner, then that would actually strengthen my point! :TU:

I'm not sure if you understood the point I was trying to make.

For any poll, even so called "scientific" ones, one can find more respondents. By itself, it never proves that an original poll results were inaccurate.

It is kind of funny, because back when ferg was trying to argue against a Canelo-Lara rematch he cited CompuBox and a list of media scores in which the percentage split was 34 Canelo, 30 Lara, and 36 even. For some reason, he thought media scores were a big deal, and that the 'majority' for Canelo strongly supported his argument, but now a comparable poll which doesn't support his fighter of favour is worthless!

That's bias for you
