Lemieux: After May 6, Everyone Will Want to See Me Fight Canelo

Post by apollo creed »

“Well obviously, whenever you have an exciting fighter like David, he’s good for any fight,” Gomez said. “He’s got an exciting style and his knockouts are incredible. So it’s something that we’ve talked about. It’s something that I know David wants. It’s something that Canelo is interested in as well. But they have very tough fights. The Chavez Jr. fight for Canelo is not a walkover. It’s gonna be a tough fight. He’s moving up in weight and fighting a tough guy, possibly a light heavyweight. And then David has a tough fight, too.

“So there’s a possibility [for Alvarez-Lemieux]. I know immediately – next – Canelo wants to fight Golovkin. He’s made that very clear to everybody. Canelo said it, we’ve said it and Golovkin says that he wants that fight. We’re continuing to negotiate for that fight. But if, for whatever reason, that fight doesn’t happen, yeah, David would be in line.”

What could go wrong ? LOL

GGG better take BJS asap fight or he'll regret.

Gennady Golovkin has been going hard for the Canelo fight for the last 2 years.. He knew this fight was more important than going after Ward. For one thing it’s much bigger money for a much easier opponent. Ward is Daniel Jacobs without the switcheroo stance, and punching power.

Canelo is a monster PPV star and Ward is a jellyfish... GGG has forgone the Billy Joe Saunders fight to make sure there's no more excuses... The Jacobs fight was too damned close and he's now 35 years old. Golovkin wants the Canelo fight made now... If Canelo or GGG get beaten before they fight, their fight won’t be as big. So They're risking a lot of money if it doesn’t happen after Canelo knocks Chavez out.. I think GGG's close decision over Jacobs actually enhances this fight and will draw more viewers.. More people see him as getting vulnerable when Canelo is coming into his peak years.

If Canelo wants to make a ton of money he needs to agree to reasonable terms for a blockbuster event that could break all existing PPV records -- including May-Pac.. Everybody knows how big this fight is and it's "percolated” long enough.

After Lemieux defeats the #88-ranked middleweight, for some reason, everyone will be clamoring to see him in the biggest fight.
