Lemieux might have the best one punch power among these four. He and GGG punch harder than Chavez or Canelo.
Re: The best punch power : Canelo, GGG, Lemiuex or Chavez ?
Ggg, Lemieux, Canelo, chavez
Re: The best punch power : Canelo, GGG, Lemiuex or Chavez ?
Why would Chavez even be on this list?
The biggest puncher is obviously Golovkin of the bunch. Lemieux is #2.
Lemieux might actually be a bigger puncher than Golovkin, but Golovkin has more skill and ability to make the punches count.

Ggg, lemieux is getting severely overrated in that department.

I'd go with Lemiuex for one punch type of power. However, I've never been hit by any of them, so it's pure speculation at this point.

Why wouldn't Chavez be on this list if Canelo is. I am not sure who of them punches harder. Jacobs, Stevens, Quillin and some other MWs punch harder than them though.gilgamesh wrote:Why would Chavez even be on this list?

Chavez isn't a particularly big puncher. Never has been. I mean he's not a weakling, but against high level guys he usually has to have a massive weight advantage over them or pound on them for several rounds to get a stoppage.boxing_rocks wrote:Why wouldn't Chavez be on this list if Canelo is. Other than Andy Lee I don't recall him stopping too many noteworthy opponents, and he looked like he had at least 20 pounds on Andy.
Re: The best punch power : Canelo, GGG, Lemiuex or Chavez ?
For pure power it would probably be Lemiuex but GGG is far more accurate and crisp. Times his shots better and is always at the correct distance to get the most in to his punches.

I could say the same about Canelo.gilgamesh wrote:Chavez isn't a particularly big puncher. Never has been. All have good power, but GGG has proven to be the heaviest and sharpest puncher, imo. Lemiuex would probably testify to that. Canelo has failed to stop several that he should have. I never thought Chavez was a devastating puncher.
Re: The best punch power : Canelo, GGG, Lemiuex or Chavez ?
Lemieux hits the hardest. That's just a fact. The best power puncher, though, is Golovkin as he knows how to deliver it with precision.

1.) GGG
2.) Canelo
3.) Lemieux
4.) Chavez Jr.

LOL to Canelo being above Lemieux. Are we talking about Canelo who was landing on Cotto but failed to hurt him? What is his puncher reputation based on? Stopping chinny Khan and Kirkland?caldo2025 wrote:1.) GGG

Well Lemieux cleanly knocked out Stevens while Golovkin couldn't. I think it's fair to say that Lemieux has more one punch KO power than Golovkin.Ossyrules wrote:Mexi-Box wrote:Lemieux hits the hardest. That's just a fact. Raw power Lemieux has some shot on him
scrambles his opponents right away but its not always clean
GGG is the most damaging puncher, accurate and on target and a heavy handed sort of power that just goes right through you I can imagine. Very heavy handed and clinical

Golovkin has the most power... but he doesn't look for the KO, but to win the round... Lemieux puts himself at risk by swinging bigger.

So if they fought tomorrow at 160, you would take Lemieux over Canelo? Do yourself a favor and don't bet on any boxing unless you have a good amount of cash you can lose.boxing_rocks wrote:LOL to Canelo being above Lemieux. It's really hard to know although Golovkin is the best technical puncher. Lemieux trains very explosively, that's why he's done after 4 rounds, he's a sprinter while the others are better paced.
Re: The best punch power : Canelo, GGG, Lemiuex or Chavez ?
I agree. I think that Lemieux was a round to two away from losing that fight with Stevens. He was almost at the end of his gas tank when he got that knockout. Stevens has alway had a problem with languishing on the ropes too long. He's too small and gets gobbled up on the ropes but he continues to put his back on the ropes and that's where he loses his fights.lazboy wrote:It's really hard to know although Golovkin is the best technical puncher. Yea I thought that too. Sickening knockout. My partner hates Lemieux after that, she wasn't pleased that he was celebrating while Stevens pretty much looked dead haha.caldo2025 wrote:I agree. I would expect Lemieux to stop Canelo. We may actually see that in September. By the way, who wins has no direct dependency on punching power, so you point is plain stupid.caldo2025 wrote:So if they fought tomorrow at 160, you would take Lemieux over Canelo?
